Thanks for the input guys, I will be running it again this weekend and try your ideas. I plan to look at the panel light voltage with a scope and see what it looks like. That's assuming I can get it to happen...
The mystery continues, checked the lights this evening and they were steady as a rock! System has been running continuously since I observed the problem. I hate intermittent problems.
I checked the voltages again, virtually identical to before. Shut it down and let things settle for half an...
It had been running for 26 hours when I took the measurements. The batteries were on the Noco Genius right up until I started, so they were in good shape at the beginning. Five hours later the measurements are all the same.

I've been burning last year's fuel to get ready for hurricane season. Last night I turned on the panel lights and noticed that they were flickering. It's not an "on/off" flickering, more of an intensity change. Sometimes a little brighter, sometimes a little dimmer. The change lasts a fraction...
I've used my teenager for hard to reach bolts. Just wait until he comes by and mention that "getting this bolt started is impossible" and voila, a couple minutes later he's showing me how easy it was!
:)
See post #4 in this thread. I think a damped version might fare better, but once you've got things running well it's just another point of failure.

I've been looking for a pallet jack to move my generator and fuel drum around in the garage. Most are too narrow between the forks, but I found one that is just wide enough. It's a Global model 334475 manufactured in 2007.

I ran my 803a with an aux connection to a 55 gallon drum for the first time a couple weeks ago. Drum fuel level was a foot or two above the top of the generator. Ran the tank pretty low, turned to the aux setting to top it back up, filled tank, put switch back to normal run position, no problems...
The graphs I posted are using the integrated capabilities that come with the IotaWatt. Not as fancy as the dashboard stuff, but easy access to the stuff most of us care about. You can add over a dozen current transformers to the system so that you can monitor individual circuits, to answer...
I am running the house on the generator to burn fuel from this year's hurricane season. It's a good practice run for everyone, helping us figure out what we can combine and find any issues.
I wanted a way to monitor usage without having to go out and look at the load meter so I ordered an...
Could that have been something like 60 pounds per square foot of pressure? If it's per square inch I think you're gonna need a bigger hunk of concrete!

A pad is intended to prevent overturn and movement. For a given wind speed, if an object weighs enough relative to its surface area (a car for instance) it's not going anywhere. Is anyone here smart enough to do the ASCE 7-10 calculations for our favorite generators?
I picked up my set today, they were shipped to the local store. When the guy rolled them up front on a cart all of the people in line did a double-take and started talking amongst themselves. These babies do not disappoint!
