I actually bought it because I’m remodeling a house and painting three shipping crates. It saves time. Time = money, so it was easy to justify.
Have yet yet to hit a truck or trailer with it, but I know it will be awesome!
I have. (Meaning an airless spray rig) They are incredible. No need in waiting for air pressure to build. There is no substitute for a Graco style pump sprayer. Plus, you get a more consistent pattern.
That’s odd. I wonder why they couldn’t mix it?
I guess you just have to spray it to see. If they mixed it right, It should look fine. Will be darker than what your sun faded truck is now.
Marquee is too thick to spray from a HVLP without thinning. I have used both. See no difference. CARC is...
I think the nut is simply to make you think it’s possible to remove the ring. I am fairly certain you could remove the nut (on mine) and tow the trailer fully loaded without worry of the ring coming loose. Ever.
I bought a 2000 lb Warn winch for this exact reason. For $99 it’s hard to beat.
Now, I just need to do what you did and install the darn thing!
Well done.
When I first got the fever and started watching the M939A2’s selling on auction, I was shocked. I texted a friend in the biz and said “wow this M923a2 went for $4000, and this one for $3500”
the reply was “They are not worth it”
I’m thinking, how can that not be worth it? It’s a huge 6x6...
You can hold more than that! That’s only 5 tons! Everyone knows 5 tons really means 10 tons!
It sure does ride better with a few tons in the bed. When I headed down to Houston with a full load of water and supplies for Harvey, it rode great. Trip back was a bit rough!
And because we thought there would always be an endless supply of them on auction! When they started getting slim, auction prices on 1101 and 101’s went over $1k. I even saw an 1101 that went for almost $3k!
Im glad I got on it when I did.
I bought a 101 from the gov with, what looks like, a shop built steel topper on it. The top fit just inside the standard bow and tarp. It has two doors that swing out and are lockable, but the whole setup is not waterproof without the tarp on. Would make a great camping topper, or lockable tool...
Two year update. Since we are on the subject ...
fired it up in November, a slightly warm Nov day, and the AC was just blowing air.
“Well, crap. I bet a rat got in there and chewed my hose somewhere!”
I looked around. No rat damage. So I started back with the electrical. Sure ‘nuff, the...
Thanks Over, it was your post that helped me get through my install. Many props to you for blazing the trail for me. I had never touched an AC system, and now I feel like a pro!
On the belt routing, I route mine differently than ‘74M35 (who sells the AC brackets) does. On my route, I don’t...
Toby, are you saying your receiver tube was 3 1/16 or the trailer tongue was?
I don’t recall a 1/16 difference anywhere. Mine seemed to fit perfectly, both sandwiches between the 3/8” plates. The two 3/8” side plates are secured with the 3 stock bolts on top, and welded to the receiver hitch...
Love the 1101/2 trailer! Lots of room for a bunk on one side and gear on the other! Perfect utility trailer to make into a camper!
Anyone ever put hog panel or plywood up wood up on the front bow to keep the tarp from blowing back into the trailer? It’s like a giant sail!
