M809 series PTO winch driveshaft question

The one with the set screw and key way is the rear yoke. It takes a woodruff key which goes into the output shaft of the (transmission) winch PTO. The front yoke which slips over the winch input shaft should have two 0.37" holes at 180°, for the shear pin - plus one threaded hole, for a grease...

Differences between 6.2 and 6.5 mechanical IP lines

    Yes, they will!

Differences between 6.2 and 6.5 mechanical IP lines

I wasn't quite sure about that statement... so I looked it up in the TMs. We are talking about the HMMWV 6.5L with the DB2831 IPs, right? According to TM 9-2815-237-34P, Fig.19 shows all of the 6.5L engines sharing exactly the same lines/part numbers. In the description it says UOC...

    Is this the correct transmission?

That is not correct. What we see is the yoke on the end of what seems to be a DANA 20 T-Case, which is not divorced. The only problem I see is with the rear driveshaft, connecting a straight-through TC with a rear differential which is offset to the pass. side.

    Driver Side Axle Boot

See this thread: https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?47041-Stubborn-steering-arm Don't even try that! Your new boot may rip in two, right there...

    Electrical schematic needed

Nope. Only the -20-3 (JAN 1996; 1168 pages, 17.4MB ) has all the wiring diagrams, at the very end. Some of these diagrams, for example for the M1025A2, M1035A2, M1043A2, M1045A2, are acceptable quality; others like for the M997 and M997A1 are miserable. Really, those A2 diagrams should work...

Rear hub hot after replacing and repack all wheel bearings and seals

Not likely, if the brake drum itself doesn't feel that hot. First double-check your spindle bearings for correct adjustment. Then do another 20' test drive. If that hub is still hotter than the other three then I would suspect the (outer) oil seal to be causing this. You might want to do some...

    Checking wheels for defects

It was a good wheel...! You shouldn't have sandblasted it!

    Electrical schematic needed

Unfortunately the various wiring diagrams in the -20-3 TM are almost unreadable... Here is one from the M996. (A bit clearer, at least...)

    Fitting Humvee wheels on M1028

I'm sure you- as well as Stahl - know that the so-called pilot hole in the HMMWV wheel center isn't such. I mean, that hole is round yes, but not necessarily centric to the 8 lug-bolt circle. I have found them to be off as much as 1/16". That was when I had to enlarge that hole on five of the...

Spicer TLC Time! Chipped 4th Gear?

Yeah, the internet.... I would love to take a look inside one of these (military) #3053-A-B-anything, said to be different then 0.79:1 OD ....... https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?14337-What-is-the-definitive-3053-A-5th-gear-ratio

Spicer TLC Time! Chipped 4th Gear?

0.79:1 5th is what he has now, not 0.85:1

Spicer TLC Time! Chipped 4th Gear?

Your TM diagram could be generic; in the earlier #3052 model that is 4th gear. Here is one for the #3053: Get that gear I told you and have a 15 ton shop press ready to pull the old one.

Spicer TLC Time! Chipped 4th Gear?

Technically, that would be the 4th speed counter-gear, yes. But in our #3053s that is the counter-gear for 5th-OD. It has 46 teeth and its part number is 10914638 See it here: http://whiteowlparts.com/store/store.php?crn=222&rn=691&action=show_detail

Drain and refill spicer, now stalling in neutral!

No worries, it can happen to everyone - one time at least... That large gear (which is actually 1st/REV) slides very easy and its fork is only so short. Now, with that gear in REVERSE (all the way back) and the shift lever in NEUTRAL your transmission really never locked up. So it was good...

HF54 power steering for my M35A2

Not sure about current source for the pump itself - if you are looking for NEW or NOS parts... But not too long ago you could get those at Waterloo Specialties (member m-35tom). AFAK he has sold parts individually also; not just the whole kit. For the correct mounting/adapter housing I would...

Putting Straight Vegetable Oil Directing into Tank of M35A2

Not so much a solvent, really - unlike bio-diesel... What WVO does (due to the presence of free fatty acids) is corroding everything bare metal; preferably galvanized parts but also the interior of our fuel tanks, which are Pb-Zn-coated. And yes, the chemical reaction products tend to clog...
