Rear Exhaust on an M923 Cargo Truck

It is worth noting the the military moved the exhaust on the deuces and 5 ton trucks from under the bed to above the cab to reduce carbon monoxide inhalation injuries to anyone in the cargo compartment. In fact, the small diameter of the original multi-fuel exhaust pipe was consciously chosen...

    engine fan always engaged ?

It might just be that the engine isn't working hard enough. The engine will never get very warm at idle unless you cover the radiator. Even running it at 1,000 RPM won't get it hot enough to open the thermostat. Even with a heavy load mine doesn't get above 190 even pulling a hill on a warm...

    M939 and M915A1 PTO info

I haven't checked the overhead clearance height above the M915A1 PTO opening but since the opening is clocked at about 11 o'clock I'm hopeful that there is enough room to fit a PTO with out cutting into the cab floor. Since the driver's seat sits on a tool box cutting the floor and boxing...

    M939 and M915A1 PTO info

jatonka and I have been discussing this for our M915A1 tractors for some time so I spent some time this week checking into this. I'm not a PTO guru so much of what I am relating here is from folks who are gurus and I'm a bit like a 6'4" sock puppet on the subject. Mostly, I'm just passing...

    Hi Idle for M915-m920

Mine lopes for a minute or so when it is first started. It was worse when it was picked up-it would barely stay running at idle. We pulled the fuel filter, filled a new one with Lucas fuel conditioner and fired it up. the engine will run on strait Lucas conditioner and the stiff dose might...

    LDT's in the cans

Power output and cost. The LDS was the 5-ton truck multi-fuel engine although a few deuces got them for various reasons. From memory the LDT puts out 140 HP and the LDT is about 200-210 HP but at any rate the LDS engines bring a big price premium since they give you much more power to hold...

Cage or air up M915 brakes

You don't say whether you just need to release the brakes long enough to load the truck on a trailer, if you plan to flat tow it etc. What are you looking to do once you release the brakes? If you intend to tow it, what are you towing it with and do you have tow bar feet sized for the truck...

Extra tools and different BII for wreckers

Bingo! As with some earlier posts what we load is directly related to distance, truck type and task. What goes to a parade ten miles from home is different from what goes 180 miles to Rausch Creek for off road driving is different from what goes 320 miles to Aberdeen. Generally a swench...

    M105A2 Spare Tire Simply Mounted

To my knowledge the rear stabilizer leg was not a factory standard on most, if any, of the trailers. Every one I saw in 29 years was field installed. Some units didn't have any and some units had them on everything. Lance

Are these 105 racks on backwards??

Also, if you have the panel for the rear of the trailer the rectangular brackets on the side skirts of the trailer are where you put that panel when not in use. It'll stay there without being tied down. I put mine on the driver's side so I can see it but it can go on either side. Lance

    Newbie Hello

No suggestions on the truck but cab covers can be had in a number of flavors. There are a few canvas ones around and they usually get nosebleed prices. There are green and tan vinyl ones that have ropes at the lower hems like the canvas ones and then there are green, tan and camo ones with a...

2012 MTA of No. Jersey Sussex Show

I thought it was kind of cute the way he had the Himalayan Death Grip on your shirt under your fleece coat. He likely didn't care where he was as long as he was warm. Heck, Ive been that way a few times myself. Lance

2012 MTA of No. Jersey Sussex Show

Not only was CARNAC playing with his lizard but he was offering to let others play with it too. He did express some regret over not having asked some of the girls from the wedding Saturday PM if they wanted to pet it.... Lance
