There was an "old style" GFCI that had a fuse in line on the black wire. Take a look see.

By outlet, you mean the 120 volt outlet? If so, did you reset the GFCI?

You need to start another thread. Its too confusing to tack it on to the old one. Will only cause you and us problems.

You are learning. Its called troubleshooting. Keep it up and you will be a generator mechanic.

If a new fuse corrects the problem, don't forget to have a spare. The fuse can also blow if someone holds the S1 in the start position TOO long. By too long I mean longer than 20-30 seconds.

In days long gone by, the bent rack was a huge problem. Lister Peter fixed it, (How I do not know) and everyone was once again smiling. Its been a long time since I heard of one being bent. Great pictures. Keep that up. I am interested about this failure.

I have never seen a water pump on the 004A and 005A go bad. Never. That doesn't mean that it will never go bad. Keep in mind, some of the great engines are much older that a good percentage of the members in this form. Look at the metal springs in the radiator hoses to see if they are there...
