Possible, but...that seems like a long way to travel since this is off the back cover--the opposite end of the PTO.
The transmission is already busted anyway, though, and it's going to be Gimpy's problem soon enough. I'll make sure he's aware of the possibility.
I'm tearing into my new PTO (new to me, that is) to fully service it before installing it on my truck. First two issues are these:

I have developed a number of very small fuel leaks since I started running WMO, but I do not blame it on the fuel. At the same time I discovered my fuel pump had not been working.
Manifold heater.
Hard to tell where the leak is coming from but should just be a matter of tightening things down. Possibly those flexible fuel lines are cracked?
In GA you might just do away with it...not sure if it's needed. I like mine.

I have never checked and don't plan to. WMO makes it run a lot cheaper than straight diesel, but like a sports car I didn't get it for fuel efficiency.
I probably go through 2-3 full tanks per year.
