    Compressor belt help

The pulley is a two-piece deal that tightens on itself in order to tighten the belt. You have to unlock the outer half of the pulley by removing the two bolts. Then it takes a special wrench. The -20 TM will certainly have the info. (yep--page 642 of TM9-2320-361-20)

    PTO Rebuild

I'm not following this: how do you correctly position the key to pass through the washer in a blind situation? Edit: after re-reading I figured this out: tapping the shaft out from the splined end pops out the capped bearing, and after THAT you can peek in and line up the key with a slot in the...

    PTO Rebuild

I'm in the middle of a PTO rebuild and I apologize for posting in two threads about it but... I noticed you didn't seem to remove the plug and the 2 screws near it (indicated by arrows). Any reason behind that?

    PTO rebuild issues

OK, if I contribute nothing else new to this process, I can offer this: in the step described herein, instead of using a brass punch, I found that a 1-1/8" socket used in an arbor press is an ideal way to remove this oil seal.

    PTO rebuild issues

Turns out an 8-hour soak-in of PB blaster was all it needed. That stuff is miraculous. The puller removed the flange with minimal effort (this after trying cheater bar and a propane torch last night--wow). Onward!

    PTO rebuild issues

Great info, thanks everyone. I've already got those cage bearings out and they appear to be in good shape. That was the part I was most worried about after reading Dave's thread about them. I will go at it again tonight or tomorrow!

    PTO rebuild issues

Thanks Dave. So did you brace the flange and hit the shaft, or how? I can't see where you'd get an angle to swing at the flange at all. I don't quite know what that means but I'll look it up. (well, the bake part esp. I know what washing and glass beading mean).

    PTO rebuild issues

I'll take a pic later. It's really not bad (I don't think--never done anything like this!) Right now I'm struggling with getting the flange off the PTO output shaft. I removed the set screw and tried a puller, heat, etc. Won't budge! The TM doesn't cover this--it's already off when this...

    PTO rebuild issues

Work is proceeding on the PTO tear down, I think I'm on Frame 9 of the step-by-step from the TM. I'm finding a little rust on some of the gears. Not bad, I think it'll clean up OK. But what is the best way to do so? I assume that preserving as much as possible the original shape and profile of...

Anyone tried the Front axle rebuild kit from 936dee on ebay

I got my parts from Ted's Trucks. Can't recall the exact price but was in that ballpark or less. I bought seals for the rear axles too, that's why I can't remember.

    Details on ringmount plate rivets.

Looks like these are the right type of rivets? I know nothing about riveting or rivet terminology. Chobert Rivets : Cleco : Hanson Rivet & Supply Co. Inc. Edit: after a little more looking I don't think that is right. The rivets I removed had two pieces: an outer tube with a domed head, and a...

Post that in the Classifieds. I'm just looking for the rivet spec.

    Details on ringmount plate rivets.

I've also been searching for the correct spec on the reinforcement plate rivets, and this is the best post I've found but seems unverified. Also I'm not sure if the above is spec'ing 2 different rivets in different quantities?
