Yeah, those were some brilliant minds... didn't need many words to understand each other.
Just imagine if today someone came saying "I put the dingfod inside the... (other)dingfod, turned the (third)dingfod but the (whole)Dingfod still doesn't work!..." :cookoo:
The parts in question are the same, air-shift #T-136-27 or Sprag-TC #T-136-21...
I'm assuming you already inspected the TC-mounts as well as the shift linkage adjustment?
No, regrettably there is no such "rebuild kit" around. But with a bit of luck you may still find NOS replacement parts...
Actually I could have a use for that one...
One customer brought his countershaft - worn beyond limit, where the bearing rides on. It sure could be saved by grinding/reducing that diameter to 43.8mm. But then I got a couple brand-new CS's, cheap... and sold him one of those. (Gimpy, you still...
That number 2nuo7 sounds very odd, should be NU207 ? Still incorrect for our application, if it had no "E" suffix....
Please see my recent post, here....
And this link shows the correct dims & specs for our Spicer 3052 & 3053 countershaft's front bearing...
Again, sorry for the...
Tom was right... (but then never said a word?): there is (was) a mistake in that list and I'm very sorry for not discovering this any sooner...
An "E" is (was) missing, behind the number RNU207... (Item DD); the correct number is RNU207E.
The difference between both is (only!) 0.2mm in...
If shopping online, just type in "308ZNR", under the category "Deep Groove Ball Bearings with Fill Slot". Most mayor brands carry this one.
FWIW: the single "Z" stands for the one-shield-only; the "NR" for the snap ring.
Not saying a std bearing won't work... just, not lasting too long.
Keep in mind that the 3053 behind a LDS (or turned-up LDT) does its hard work in 5th-O.D. gear, most of its time, and that's when it sees significant radial- and also axial forces, from the 4 helical gears involved. Much more...
That's normal, despite the condition of the input shaft bearing.
BTW, that bearing shown in 1st pic, post #5 is not what should be there. It takes a BL308 "high load", with 11 brg.balls; not the std 6308 with only 8.
Correct bearing numbers can be found here...
G.
There simply wasn't more junk of mine left there, to fill that box up to the roof. Still, it is heavy enough already, as it is - for a long-distance, 10h-ride to follow.
And yes, there was enough other heavy stuff going in the bed.
Not sad, just funny...! Called "semi-elliptical, load-tested...
OK, let me help a bit with this...
Part number: 7373337, NSN 9390-00-737-3337 (unchanged since the early 50's and up to the last -A3 models)
Since you might find some parts books only calling this "WEATHERSEAL", or more vaguely:"NONMETALLIC, SPECIAL" (TM 9-2320-361-34P, JUL1993) - or even...
... or the coil spring is rusted in place, preventing the pin from coming out?
This is how the assembly looks like...
And here is a thread that deals with a broken lock pin, and how to get it out.
Years ago I had posted the exact lock-bolt dimensions, if you can't find an OEM replacement...
... just from playing with old Deuces (and tape-measures...), for a couple years... :-)
Oh, and you are self-sufficient already: you are on SteelSoldiers (!) - with free access to most likely more info than what you will ever need!
And if you can't find it in our library, just ask away...
