looking at the picks, you don't have the high steer, I believe if you try to move your tie rod up you will experience the same problem I had. Just so you know, if you decide to add it, you will probably have to move the axle back. I think you can go about a half inch forward not 1.5
you got...
got to pull the injection lines, so you might as well do a lot of other things when you do. water pump, IP rebuild while your in there if you do not know the history.
it would really suck to put it back together and a month later you have to do the IP.
This is if funds are available. Once...
if your raise the motor that much you are going to kill your front driveline angle, you cannot raise the back more than 1/2 inch, thus you tilt the t-case more to the back.
If you plan on only a motor lift and body lift with no suspension lift you may be able to make it work, but the front...
do you have cross over high steering,
I had mine moved forward that far but with cross over high steer, the tie rod hits the pitman arm, even with the short arm. just checking to see if you had same as me and how you handled it. with 6 inch lift it may be ok. I had 5 (4 inch with zero rate)...
not trying to take over the thread, I have a slight sag in right rear, I believe it is in the spring, I have new bushings and shakle flip but stock springs.
going down the road, my truck the ass end runs to the left. Alignment is great but not enough miles to know If I am having tread wear...
pull the Detroit locker in the 14 bolt and put it in new used 14bolt. or rebuild what you have probably need new gear set but the carrier and all other parts (except bearings) should be ok.
If you rebuild it, you know what you have.
The dana 60 is worth 1200 by itself a good 14 bolt with...
wire it from the front batter, don't wont to put 24v to that solenoid.
front bat + terminal to where you disconnected the pink wire.
if no problem there start looking at fuel delivery problems
should not have that much variation. your numbers have about a 25% variance.
plugs in or out should not make a difference. leakage could be valves or rings, numbers that low could be both.
you should not have more than 10% variance. anything lower than 370 is a tired motor. I had between 390...
How much lower does the GEP pan hang than the stock th400. I am wondering if it works with the ORD cross member. I plan to put that motor in my 1009 some day and I already have the cross member. you can't slide you hand between the pan and cross member, it crosses at the motor mounts and not in...
With the motor installed, you have to cut the old one to get it out. it may be possible to pull in one piece with the motor removed but I did not have the luxury.
An air chisel on the rivets is your best friend. And once you cut the center with a sawsall, it falls out.
Looking at mine, it has 1/2 of space and sits close to drop in pan. probably have to remove.
Not difficult to remove but it is 12 nuts/bolts to remove.
I have it in my truck. I have not driven the truck, still working on turbo. It frees up a lot of space. It is incorporated more into the motor mounts and I just looks to be a better engineered cross member with its placement and bolt locations.
no feed back on performance but it is allowing me...
just don't use tci. I lost a lot of money with them. The firs unit they sent me had a EFI fuel system program in it and I believe it trashed a brand new transmission.
I had to rebuilt it because it got over pressured.
I like the us shift controller. It think it is a better unit and connects to...
it Is an expensive shaft to screw up, it takes two minutes to make the cuts and then re-install the shaft once all the parts are in the truck
get it all in the truck before you cut it. Otherwise it is a guessing game
is column in truck? saw pics with it out.
If so install both ends with the shaft separated so you can lay them side by side and mark them. You cut them so that there is 4 to 6 inches of collapsibility.
you can judge how much to make it collapse by measuring how much your old one collapses. make...
good info here, I have a 110 Lincoln wire feed, I put a Teflon liner in and have become an ok aluminum welder. Mine can only use the .030 wire since it has the liner. One of these days I will get one with a spool gun. My biggest problem was getting the wire speed set to keep a good bead...
if the body is clean and no rust, it is a 5k truck. The interior parts that are bad, are bad in most trucks out there and can be fixed easily.
Paying 4 years of storage would not be good either.
If you don't have family you can leave it with for free, (let them use it a little, it will help...
no fuel = no start.
The engine will turn over until you toast the starter or run the batteries down.
Any air leaks in line will create problems, An electric fuel pump on frame rail close to fuel tank will pressurize system and leaks will be apparent.
There is a place where most people...
