I think you will he unhappy moving the front axle back to the stock location. I would clearance the front CV or buy a high angle CV from High Angle Drive line.
To a point...
When you remove positive caster, it creates instability which any smaller disruption on the steer axle while driving could cause a severe death wobble. Positive caster actually lifts the front of the vehicle when the tires turn left or right. Removing caster will cause not as much...
I'm not of you technical skills but a TH400 is not exactly a hard trans to rebuild. A novice with a few special tools (micrometer, dial indicator, and dial torque wrench) along with a good manual can rebuild one all day long. It's the guys that simply pull it apart and replace the soft parts...
I will confirm that installing an aftermarket mechanical water temp gauge in the OEM temp warning switch (driver side, front of cylinder head) is a bolt in job and requires only the supplied bushing with most gauges.
Not sure about the output shaft being compatible with an NP208 (should be) but you won't have park unless you are going to intall the necessary components.
This is what I did, used a 24v MileMarker and connected it to the truck via the slave cable receptacle. So I can interchange front to back and if I ever buy a trailer, I can weld on a receiver to pull vehicles up and simply plug the winch into the rear NATO port...
Pull out broken spring (as long as it isn't the main) and remove the same one on other side of truck. Probably will never notice the differnce. In it for u-bolts, center pins, and time.
The kickdown does that, force a downshift at around 3/4 throttle. The vacuum is a signal that goes down to the trans via a hose. It attaches to the modulator which creates modulator pressure in the trans. The governor spins off the trans output shaft and creates governor pressure when vehicle...
You should be able to get any 27si rebuilt as an isolated ground using the correct rebuild kit. They are really nothing special, just need to make sure you order the correct parts which are available pretty much anywhere you can buy Delco rebuilt kits. The only issue is the quality...good luck...
This is a well known issue with c-clip axles period. Doesn't matter if they are still being used in millions of production vehicles. I personally get a great laugh when I see Jeeps with logs ratchet strapped to the rear tire holding it on being dragged down the trail. It is a flawed design that...
Every place I have ever lived never required a title on something that old. I registered mine in ME with just a bill of sale. I had the govt paperwork but playing dumb typically gets you furthest at the DMV.
Now if they request a title or say the VIN has never been titled or registered, then...
Hey dude
I'm about an hour away in Wilmington. Unfortunately I'm heading out the door first thing tomorrow morning for a weekend wedding, then a trade show in Baltimore till next weekend. If you need assistance with anything, give me a shout. I'll PM my cell number if you want it. I've started...
Absolutely...if you filled the tank before storing :)
Condensation can corrode if the tank is not full. Also remember that any water separates out and sinks to the bottom. Water on the bottom can be pulled into the system and cause corrosion. Just keep in mind these things are 30 years old...
I bought a rather nice outdoor timer from Lowes (probably $50) that has a programmable digital timer. During the week I would give my car 3 hours of preheat and turn it off for the weekend. If I had to go somewhere, I could always program it in the night before or just hit the manual button...
