Yes, CCW - looking rear to front of engine.
Why so? Spinning "the wrong way" wouldn't be any different than for example coasting (in 5th and clutch depressed) then releasing the clutch. A sound transmission will stay in gear, either way.

Apology accepted. You only got a "Warning", this time.
Remember, before placing a for-sale ad in the classifieds you will need to upgrade to "premium membership". (It's explained here...)

Next time try "brakes locked up", not breaks...
Here: many good threads to read that will lead you "straight to the hard of the issue"...
(BTW: I have edited your thread title.)

OK, you couldn't see your pics posted because that post in particular was "on moderation" - which is now fixed... (Thanks to Warthog!)
Pics came out fine and clearly indicate that this is in fact a new- or "fresh" rebuilt transmission. Everything seems to be brand spanking new in there! Still...
I can assure you this: even the best- or the worst- possible lubricant will not cure the OP's main problem, that is preventing 5th from slipping out of gear.
I say, at least one part in there is worn or faulty and must have been overlooked at the time of rebuild - if this really is such a...
Hi and Welcome to Steelsoldiers!
1) Hard to shift into 2nd from a complete stop: This is quite normal; you are not the only one with that issue. Read this thread and see what others suggested.
2) Slipping out of 5th: Not that common for these transmissions; not at least if all parts involved...
... but then you were talking about tires in all three posts!?
Correct. Except for the S&S 2-1/2" ton truck (4x4 FMTV) which would be what, the latest model Deuce?
The 43"-diameter, wide based 14.5R20 (later 365/80R20) was the most logical option to replace the skinny 11.00R20 radials - which...
So what about post #29???
Besides that, A2 and A3's share exactly the same axles...
And there is a (good)reason the military adopted these MPT tires to put on the M35A3...
G.
Definitely not!
I tried to measure one as good as I could. Here are some of the dimensions - most probably a standard size & shape for injection lines?
G.
First, there is no outer seal on the fronts.
2nd, I see rust on the outer bearing race?
3rd, lots of dirt on the lower outside of the steering knuckle, which would indicate a ripped boot and water getting inside and doing its thing??
Maybe the spindle nuts were not tightened correctly. But if...
That should be a "Steward Warner" logo... and yes, its .187, which is the correct (reduction)ratio to run 9.00-20 sized tires.
Do you still think this is not the standard adapter, found on 99% of all Deuces?
G.
Why not, what is different? Clean it and see if you can find 0.187:1 stamped on the housing. That is the correct one for a Deuce with 9.00-20 tires.
The one on the right is the tachometer adapter.
G.
Well, beadlock-(inserts) and beadlock-(wheels) are different things, but I think the OP's question clearly was about the HMMWV's stock wheel width - 8.25 or 9.75 inches.
The rubber beadlock/runflat insert itself is only 6-3/4" wide.
