I have a 10 foot refrigerated container that I have been thinking about converting to a small rv to mount in my tractor.
The springs are correctly orientated for the application. As the weight is applied the springs compress on each other. If you reversed them all of the load would be on the clamps and they would fail.
If the trailer requires 100 psi to release the spring brakes then there is a problem. The spring brakes should release about 60 psi. The air compressor cut in pressure can be set as low as 85 psi.
