The 127 works great for a 2m rig, have used them many times, they do the pl and you can choose a seperate tx/rx frequency. The downside is low power and they don't scan. The antenna on it is wideband so no need to change it.
The generators have a pretty good oil cooler and at 100 hour oil change intervals prescribed by the TM I doubt you would wear out 15-40. I use Rotella 15-40 in mine as well.
On the military channel was a program on EMP. At White Sands Proving Ground they had/have an emp simulator. They drove a car through the field and it shut it right off, the same for a remote control plane. In a real world event, who knows.
Original would have been 2 12v 2HN batteries as used in the M series jeeps. There is a commercial one that is real close, 51R or something close to that, do a search for 2HN. Clean/flush fuel system and change the filters/oil. Buy the original Fram brand filters and you won't have any...
There is also a tie down sling and a wooden dunnage platform for the bed of the truck. Most people don't know about the dunnage and the shelter crumples the sides of the bed, it also keeps the shelter centered in the bed and prevents it from moving.
The linkage operating the dump body is giving problems. Fixed all the slop in the linkage up to the hoist control box. The problem is when the lever is moved the output side of the control box moves very little and won't move the linkage that goes to the pto far enough. Would like to know if...
