Anyone in steelsoldierland has any info on chargers operated off 120/240vac (60Hz) or 28 volts DC? Military surplus, that is, to charge several batteries at a time off the vehicle.
Even references to TMs would be appreciated.
The bypass instructions may get confusing because of the reuse of existing tubes and fittings. I like to show it as seen in the image below by using plugs on the FDC and simply run the fuel feed to "B" in image #2.
I have been taking parts from my spare pumps and FDCs and am down to my last...
It's actually the ozone that causes most of the damage along with the UV rays.
The military specifies a larger amount of antiozonants for their tires and they last longer that way. Some aftermarket chemicals will probably do more harm than good if used to "protect" the rubber.
I have googled...
Both sending unit and gauge can be bench tested. Apply compressed air to the sending unit, using a rubber tipped air nozzle and check resistance.
The gauge requires 3 connection points, case is ground, the "ribbed" Packard connector goes to the sender (which must have the same ground as the...
Have the whole thing, appears to be a rebuilt unit with the ports plugged. Don't know the condition other than visual.
$45 plus shipping (25 lb).
PM if interested.
Well told story!
What about good old wheel chocks? If you are alone when leaving, back up and steer to the side of them going back down hill.
Remember Wayne Harris (papercu) in GA, having some big perforated metal ones...
Usually a wire with power ("hot") will have a female connector.
In your case the wire from the source #16, should be female and wires #17 and #18 males going to the head lights regardless of the application.
Probably won't help you much, just thought I'd toss it in.
A lot of the power available in "new" engines can only be tapped for a limited amount of time, useful for acceleration, hills etc, but not for continuous service. The multifuel can run at full rated power forever.
Your average civy car only needs about 35-40 hp to run at highway speed, the rest...
15.5 inches is equivalent to 395 metric, so the same width. However, an 80% aspect ratio will give you a tire that's just under 45 inches tall, which is a plus IMHO (vs 85 or even 100%). Don't gamble with the CG, I think Gimpy can tell you more about that.
The wheel (rim) should be at least 11...
Hmm...looking for military surplus charger for use around the house.
Want to be able to charge a bunch of deep cycle batteries at one time with power from a genset or possibly the 28V/100amp generator system on the truck.
