I think that is the older one, most of the newer ones have a couple of more solar cells, look up IS 24L Solargizer, those are the common most ones that charge a little also.
The problem as I see it it is that the 12V compatible glow plug does not have any better long term availability prognosis, it just has better off the shelf availability at the moment. I too had mentioned a PWM circuit of some type as an option, but did not have a particular source in mind, in...
It depends on which generation of the solargizer you have, the early ones did nothing to charge, just de-sulficated, later ones did a small amount of charging as well, enough to make up for self discharge rate of most batteries under most outdoor lighting conditions
There are a few threads worth reading over on the smokstak board about the various MB teen models, also one of the regulars over there worked on these when he was in the Air Force
I am not clear here, but from the front switch does it try to crank? also have you tried pulling and resetting the push to reset breakers, these sometimes act up when they have sat up a while and need to be cycled half a dozen times or so
Jeepsinker, so how much do you want for them, I say it should be on a first come first serve basis, pick up only, no shipping :) I can be there in about 20-30 minutes :)
I was thinking maybe for now a crude electronic solution might work, something using a power transistor and oscillator to convert from 24V to 12V inline through PWM (pulse width modulation). It would be a very crude approximation of 12V (rapidly pulsed 24V) averaging out to 12V, but since we...
right 2 12v matching resistors of matching size wired in series will run off 24V and will split the voltage equally so they each see 12V or there about. In this case you would want a 12v heater with a resistance of about equal the total number of glow plugs, because they are all wired in...
There is a discussion of their MEP-002a / MEP-003a circuit board, I don't know if the MEP-004a / MEP-005a board is the same or not. In the case of the one covered in the discussion it functions as a basic auto start controller that drops in, in place of the standard control board. There are...
The likely potential problem here is the electric stove, with all the burners and the oven turned on at once it may draw close to 10KW by itself. Which is likely as much or more than everything else put together, the question then becomes do you really need to be able to cook Thanksgiving...
Have you tried going step by step through the troubleshooting section of the TM? Also can you tell us a bit more about what it is doing, is it stable at start up then swinging, or does it start up steady then get worse. Also is this voltage swinging back and forth or does it tend to jump and...
