I took an entire rear bumper off a gal that was parked in a handicap space with no placard or license plate. Totally in my blind spot. Never saw her car. That's my story and I stuck with it...
Offered to call the police, but she knew she'd have just gotten the parking ticket so she wouldn't...
Also search eBay.
I saw some " 46.8" Michelin XZL 395/85 R20 (Non-Plus) Surplus Military Truck Tires Full-Tread" tires for $300 ea
*ALWAYS inquire as to the date codes (newer, better).
Ah, I just noticed that those are *not* XLMs.
Those are ZXLs and a far better tire.
Toss the spare on for now, but make certain it is also a ZXL (easy way to tell is it simply won't say XML in thick print on the sidewall).
You can find ZXLs in a number of places. GovPlanet auctions off...
EDIT: see next post below
Nice rig ! Is that the former "Mule" truck that opens into a bandstand/display?
Yes, XMLs are prone to blowouts and under NO circumstances should that cracked tire be on the road much less at anything even remotely near highway speed. The XMLs are dangerous enough...
I run Optimas in my pre-runner and sand rail. They've always been good to me, but I've never looked into it. There are tons of battery options, though.
I'll see if I can find the link to the rebuild kits.
Here's what the bows look like (just flat stock with a section of tubing welded on the...
Congrats !
Good walk thru. Looks like a solid truck. Just random thoughts:
Either go to two batteries or four, but they all have to match.
Someone on here sells the rebuild o-ring kits for the hydraulic pumps.
Glad hand cover on the rear just needs new rubber inserts/gaskets (Amazon or any...
I don't think the brace was ever implemented?
The "D" stamp is as good as it got until the issue was fixed with the A1R trucks (ie: the same rear end assembly as the 5-tons leveled out the propeller shaft angle).
I didn't even bother to trim mine. It only takes a minute to remove the covers and I really can't say that I've ever had to access the valve stem or CTIS assembly.
They were thrown away in the field, I hear. Motor pool didn't want to mess with them. You could find them at auction for $80 a...
I'd say it's pretty close after you factor in the additional 20% for fees and registration. A couple of those trucks had very low use (part or IT unit of Northrop Grumman iirc). No AC or anything special so I'd put an A1R in that condition at around $20K ballpark.
I want to know what was in...
Oh yeah it is. As much fun as the 6" Velcro that was glued all over my cab and skirted my M1079 box.
Here are some of the things that I've used with varying results:

Sweet looking roof rack, as well.
I'm looking to do something akin to the the way you protected those top corner lights (the IbisTeks I'm mounting rotate like those and are about that size).
