Yes, you now cannot use a military tow bar. Far easier to fab an aluminum winch platform that slips over the frame extensions (both front and rear) so you can store the winch out of sight and out of thieves access. But because most would scoff at that brand, no biggie.
I am wanting a 24 volt...
Sounds like a transistor going wonky. These devices are switches, either on or off. It sounds like a transistor that has a frequency range where it is dead, not generator frequency but field switching freq.
diagnosing the the issue would require a o-scope output of the transistors during...
Sorry about leaving a gallon of sweat on the inner fender and engine.. ;). Glad you made it home, 9mpg sounds about right for a 923, 28 in a Tahoe? Unreal.
The 1/8" pin in the side indexes the pump to the port closing (PC) mark on the flywheel. The cam gear to injector pump face gear teeth are quite coarse, you will get correct mesh. The PC mark lining up only happens on #1 compression so remove the valve cover and make sure both intake and...
There shouldn't be any pressure in the ram unless actively turning. As in holding torque on the wheel. Alignment? Or different pressures in the steering axle wheels.
Yeah, I was a bit perplexed at that leak. Once the line clamps were loose, the line was free to swing away and a deep well 15mm socket easily tightened the loose tube adapter, apparently the anti rotation lock didn't work.
I donated a gallon of sweat to the project. Still stinging in the eyes...
Yes, actually the Oldham drive key per Bosch literature. Since the plunger is a fuel tight fit, debris in the fuel or varnish can cause binding so this is the weak link designed to break. It also wears from the plunger sliding in it,throwing timing off.
The only gasoline engine converted to diesel would be the Olds 350. Those are all but extinct. The 379 GM diesel is a Detroit Diesel, only sharing the bell housing bolt pattern and engine mounts of the GM.
In the 1009, the engine differs from a civy in that it is a heavy duty J code, lacking...
231 cubic inches per gallon, cubic foot of water is 62 pounds, that works out to 8.28 pounds per gallon. Unless it is salt water, then that is 64 pounds per cubic foot which is 8.55 pounds per gallon. Now if you are hauling deuterium oxide, it will be a bit over 9.2 pounds per gallon ;)
Could be diesel in the oil since Ambac (Bosch) have no real seal between diesel and oil side on the plunger, leaking o rings on the static sides can also leak.
this is why you should take note if the engine is "making" oil. Or oil level rises.
. Did you feel the plunger also turning? If not, that is a broken key. Timing the pump is pretty easy, there are marks on both gears. The gear on the pump and the one that turns it. They must be aligned. Since they are 1:1, there is only one way to install. Stick transfer case in neutral...
The wipers are incorrectly timed on their shafts. The arms pull off, there is a spring clip retaining them to the shaft. Pull both arms and see if the shafts turn correctly when on and stop automatically in the down position, a bit of tape stuck to the shafts will show this. If all checks...
There is a screw adjustment on the driver's side of the injection pump, right down by throttle shaft. You will also see the fast idle solenoid acting on that bellcrank.
Not my MEP003a but another member's. What had happened was over two years of inop which varnished the injection pump. When we tried to start it, the Oldham key seized. Then when pulling the pump, the delivery valve spacer fell apart. And the nylon ball end link snapped. But we managed to...
Propane isn't as desirable in a fogging style bifuel as it's auto ignition temperature is lower than that of natural gas. And gasoline is even lower.
now, a spark ignition engine can use all three since sparks are pretty high temperature ignition sources.
