banks drivers side
does banks have a driverside mannifold also that takes the crossover output in the back and move it to the front also. so that the crossover is not running from the back corner to the front opposite corner of the engine.
looks like the cross over would be fairly tricky with...
thanks for the info
I have been taking my time absorbing all of the turbo info out there becasue my 1009 will eventually have one but prob. not till christmas.
thanks for sharing the mannifold pics, I have never seen a banks manifold. yes it looks less restrictive where the cross over is but...
only one track adjustable
the track with the vent winow is not adjustable because it is fixed to the vent window assembly. there are two bolts, one on the side of the door and one just under the bottom of inner door cover. these two are the only adjustments you have. just loosen them a...
you are saying the starter was turning over but not starting, you replaced glow plugs and now starter does not turn.
have you done doghead mod? if not i would do that next.
glow plugs and starter are not really connected in any way so your starter not working may be because of a bad relay and...
yes
yes you can hook both to power bar if you no longer have 24V system.
I would put both POS cables under same terminal with pos. to starter sandwitched between. this will allow the highest amps possible to go to your starter. do not spread them out on the bus bar it will only create more...
still building
cant help with pics or any other advise. I am still building my 1009 and I will be adding one before it is complete.
I think you should be able to use the existing lines. they may need to be bent a liitle since the currenly line up with the conections to the radiator.
you...
ac tonage
for those considering tonage/btu size. In building. One ton of AC is good for 500 sqare feet with 8 foot ceilings (4000 cu ft) with normal insulation. One ton = 12,500 btu. (= to 3.125 btu per cu. ft.)
vehicles are different. newer ones are better due to High efficency glass and...
The stock cooler is actually a warmer more than a cooler. This is by design. It is a small section of the radiator thus allowing the trans fluid to warm with the engine on start up. It does function as a cooler under normal loads. when you load a diesel, any Diesel, the water temp will climb...
bent, loose tracks or bad regulator
I would say that the lower guide arms are bent or loose.
when regulator goes, normally it is the gear, not the arms.
I just had my drivers side reg fail. it is the gears. I am replacing with electric windows.
If the rubber is new, I had to get some spray...
week pintle hitch and cooler is part of radiator
pintle hitch is week add 2 inch receiver.
the cooler is a small part of the radiator and not good enough for towing.
it works fine with no real load. but you will see your temps climb with a diesel the more you load it.
thanks for all the info.
thanks for all the info, being that parts are getting harder to get and some good used running trucks are still out there I wanted to determine the best years to look at.
I have a 2000 model 4l80e two wheel drive that was free needs rebuilt and I have someone that...
95 tahoe to expensive
I believe the only thing a 95 diesel tahoe would get me is a 6.5 turbo and tranny, no drivetrain upgrade
plus these are not cheap used unless it is wrecked and then you may have a lot of bad parts due to that.
1 ton trucks are pretty cheap and i can get one still...
thanks, lets subtract the d60 and then what is best
thanks OD. I thought the d60 went through late 90's.
but if I can get all but that it is prob. worth looking into.
If I deduct the D60. and just look at the other items.
what would be the best year if it made any difference.
I have found...
I am pretty sure they built them with all of these parts.
the one ton single rear wheel 6.5 using the 4l80e. now all the best years of those parts on one truck I may not be able to find but If I can get 90% its probably worth it vs. parts buying.
parts searching has not been succesful so I am searching for another truck to part.
parts I want.
4l80e 4x4 transmission. - needs correct tail shaft to work with 203 xfer case. newest models not sure what year looks like the got rid of tail section and newer transfer cases attatch to shortened...
bad cam and worn out hole
Tomc, you may have a bad cam that the pushrod rides on allowing it to get in a bind inside the hole thus breaking them. I have friend who built his rock crawler with my old cucv 6.2. His father has a buddy that is a 6.2 and 6.5 guru. He told him to do the electric...
no re-recor for origonal heater core.
i wanted to have mine repaired but if it is the origional they cant repair it.
the origionals are brazed plates that cannot be repaired according to my radiator man.
I just replaced mine 6 monts ago.
mutilation hole, but repairable
I have seen this once. My neihbor has one, he was told it was how they got away with meating the mutilation requirement and thus get them for free but can still re-sell. A hole in the diff cover does not meet mutilation requirement. A hole in the housing does...
sounds like a filter problem
no power but runs ok, sounds like a clogged fuel line or a dirty fuel filter.
maybe the centerfuge is not getting it clean enough.
the fuel lines are small, the WMO cold may be leaving a coating on your fuel lines thus making the inner diameter smaller and less...
