It would be nice to see pictures of your DUKW. and pehaps you could post up the data plate numbers etc. With that information some help could be forthcoming.
Indeed, to keep company with some handbrakes easily knocked off exiting trucks..no locking diffs..wiz kid (un-hardy electronics)..and winch and roll has always been a very usefull feature.
Snap!..Also from London..U.K...Very welcome to this site the hobby, vehicles events and friendships to come. That's a Nice group of trucks you allready have in your possesion. Those trailers look usefull and fully functional as well.
As mentioned previous, wires and lights. No big deal, easily obtainable, and It does look a nice example. Cut or not, If you can get it, do so.Pay what it is worth to you tohave opossesion of it, and enjoy it. Again..nice truck. (a little better than mine) , and nice items under the seat..shows...
Don't spoil it, keep it original and put 1200x20 singles on. Results in lower rpm,s at cruise. better top cruise speed. Better mpg. What more could you wish for?..and a really decent (historic) military truck when completed.
Post up some pictures of your vehicle for us to see.
A poor or failing turbo will result in lower power, (some say not)..and probably a lot of blue smoke. Also if failing badly there will be a squeaking/screeching noise from contacting parts.
Firstly, WHY in heck do the people at Fort Worth "attempt to wreck the engines" of vehicles they are selling? Where is the sense and or logic in their preparations for sale. Frankly I am (rather disgusted) to hear of this practice. I would have been asking questions of someone somewhere for...
A thought just crossed my mind, Does the Engine (ballancer) vibrate/shake/ shudder at all?
Discounting that, Does the Gearbox..etc etc?. (as )I would run it without propshafts, in gears jacked up. I would then try running with 1st. Rear propshaft only. 2nd. Front propshaft only.
You have got to...
Pleasant to read of helpful staff on those sites. Glad you had a good experience there, appreciation (also) goes a long way in assisting everyone involved in the hobby.
Try to figure out how to post the pictures.that would be very interesting to see..The Russian trailers and bodies just look so great. Make great campers to convert.
How original is the jeep? Post some more pictures (as it) Looks like youv'e purchased a nice "project"?. How much wiring is missing? (enough to warrant a re-wire...perhaps).
