Two spare tires/rims AND two more spare tires? Dang, that would take up a lot of space. I'm just planning on carrying a single spare wheel/tire for my truck and trailer, and then using some of these axle chain-up brackets to bob my deuce on the spot if I get more than one flat.
I see you're in Costa Rica. I'm planning to do some extensive traveling in Mah Deuce too. Parts availability is something that I've given a lot of consideration to, and I'm sure it would be much easier to get regular 10-lug wheels anywhere outside of the US (hell, even in the US). But if I...
The only thing about 10-lug wheels that appeals to me is that I would have more options when it comes to wheels. But even if I had my choice, I don't think there are any wheels I would rather have than a nice set of bead-locked two-piece military rims. Modified, A3, canadian, etc...
I'm not planning on making any hubs., there's just been some discussion of hubs and wheel adapters in this thread. Personally, I'd lean towards modifying wheels to work with the Deuce lug pattern (like the ones that CCE is selling). That's partly because I'd need hubs for my M353 trailer too...
I spent some time looking at that yesterday, but there are some things about it that I don't really care for (like the overhang at the cab corners and the top/front edge along the windshield. Still really useful for all the dimensions, but I'd want to make some changes before I cut any parts. I...
Depending on how much you really want to part-out, there are a few things that I could really use. But if the box is in good shape, I imagine that someone will most likely just buy the whole box.
Dude, you GOTTA go with a grenade shifter. Sure it's obvious, and a little cheesy, but that's OK. I lengthened my shifter and topped-it off with a lemon. Now I'm cruisin' ratfink-style.
I think you're right about those wheels, but I'm not specifically looking to go into business making Deuce parts. I'm just interested in making some cool parts for my truck, and wanted to involve other people on the forum. If I end up making a few bucks one way or another, cool.
The other...
Those steps would be stupid-simple to make, but I've got a question: Do you guys want these parts reproduced as they were, or is it worth talking about making new-and-improved versions of any of these parts? For instance, If we added four door hinges on the vertical sides, the step would be able...
I just ordered one of these. They outfit a lot of military vehicles, but I haven't seen them discussed on this site (at least they didn't turn up in any search results). Cat also re-brands them and sells them for their equipment.
I'm planning on installing one of these heaters in my M109 and ducting air to the cab and box. If anyone has come up with a clean way to do that, I'd like to hear about it.
And I agree about never having too much heat, or too many types. I've got back-ups for back-ups. 1) Radiant heat in the...
I'm not only interested in making parts to sell. It would be great to have parts-files for some of this stuff that we could share, and anyone could download/use for free. Post-up some dimensions of those little brackets and let's add them to the list.
Forgot about the 12V alternator mount. I haven't thought too much about this yet, but I'll definitely need one for my motorhome conversion.
Show me some pictures of the folding front steps. I'm sure those would be pretty easy to reproduce.
Those chock mounts are stupid-simple. I can have those...
