    Recovered Westy's M818 today

Well, took a day off work and went down to Ft Stewart to pick up Westy's M818. Drove down in my railroad maintenance truck, because I have rigged it up to be towed with a medium towbar. Got there around 0845, and waited on John for a few minutes. While I was waiting, I hooked up my tow lights...

New! 2009 GA Rally Multimedia Thread

I would vote no as well. The way things are nowadays, it would get twisted into a militia/crazy hicks story.

New! 2009 GA Rally Multimedia Thread

This was Angie and my first GA Rally. We had a Blast!!! can't wait until next year, when I will have a truck I can trail ride as well. (Angie has taken over my 109. When she started picking out curtains, I gave up!) Thanks to everyone who helped put it on and make it a success! Mike, next year...

Where to find accessory power on a deuce...

I usually just use a portable cig recepticle with clips and hook it to one battery, then run the cable for the GPS/phone out the pass door and plug it in. I just found a slave cable plug that has two cig recepticle made for the military. Haven't pluged anything into it to test yet. If it works...

    Multifuel Gensets?

The 'Multi fuel' part of the engines are way over blown. What I mean by that, is all diesel engines, by the vary nature of their operation, are 'multi fuel'. The multi fuel engines in deuces were specifically designed to operate at a given power range on several different fuels. Obviously to...

I wonder why they pulled all the m35a2s

Um, they actually have been building the m44 series trucks (what the m35, m109, m275... etc trucks are based off off) since the late 1940's if I remember correctly. Production didn't really kick off until the 50's and 60's. I would be guessing at the bare minimum 500,000 of all the variants...

    Replacing Engine on M35a2c ???

Not just the condition of the tranny that you are getting that is in question, but the clutch should be looked at as well. Don't want to put one in that needs replacing in 5k miles. If your already going to have it all apart, you should check the clutch and replace if necessary. Either way, I...

If you had $1000... Prioritizing upgrades and repairs.

I would replace the window seals. It will keep your doors and door guts in better shape, also help with drafts and whistles. Test your batts, alts for free at almost any auto parts store (that you trust) I may replace the glow plugs if you pull one and they look bad, and replacing the...

Hey! It's not in my backyard, it's still on active rails... I am torn. I would love to see her stay in the USA, but as a former ship engineer, and 'machine whisperer', I believe every piece of machinery (no matter what it is or what it's in) deserves to run. I tour the USS Yorktown...
