    Deuce Fuel

cessnatwin, Make sure your stuff is clean and water free, and dump it in! I wish I had the kind of supply you do! The truck will love it, trust us. I think mine runs better on a blend of different fuels than straight pump diesel.

    another sucsessful recovery!

Good Job, nice looking truck! On a side note for those who might run across the horn issue one day- an easier way to stop it sometimes is pull on wire loose from the solenoid. Or if you did that and it was still blowing, you did the right thing. I just noticed, it has the frame...

My BIG M925A2 Project Truck Is Home

Chris, When I was in the Navy I remember some Seabee trucks like yours pulling those gargantuan boats. Maybe that explains the hitch set up.

    Food service for Ga Rally

I talked with Chris (Sevo) and the ladies, and I think we can be counted on to at least eat breakfast from the MKT. We may jump in if something looks especially tasty or we just don't feel like cooking for some reason. I agree with Joe, sometimes you just want to pay as you go. LOL. Thanks...

When do plan on showing up?

I'm planning on rolling out when Angie gets off at 12:30 on Thursday. I will take her to work and then pick her up, that way her work HAS to let her off and we can leave from there. Coming in by I-20. I might do 378 instead. Not sure yet.

    M109 trailer Conversion thread

Your ahead of Chris alright, and WAY ahead of me, seeing as I'm never going to do mine now. (well, not in the foreseeable future.) Can't wait to see it at GA! And don't overdo it Neil! blow a splint and bad things will happen....

    Blown Engine M35a2c

GoHot, (Richard, right?) The hydrostatic lock test is supposed to be done prior to every start. Yes, that is the test where you pull out the stop and bump the engine over to check for fluid on the cylinders.

    MEP 002A looking for suggestions

sounds like a fuel starvation problem. Blow all the lines out, and see if that helps. Might be a chunk of something in there and the engine will run till it gets sucked up to a spot and catches. Then when you shut it down it moves back. Check the ports on the filter housings too.

    Battery Safety

I was 16 and checking some batteries in an old 1962 White road tractor. We had them on charge. I had goggles on (thank goodness) and this old fella I was working with did not. I pulled off a cap to see if it was bubbling, and he goes and plays with the charger clamp. It sprayed the acid all over...

My BIG M925A2 Project Truck Is Home

Looking good Chris and Chad! I would think the harness might hold up for a couple of years until some NOS harnesses appear on the market. If you even have this truck that long! Wish Winslow's wasn't so far away, I'd come up and lend you a hand.

    Blown Engine M35a2c

Sorry to hear about that. Hmm... If it was 'rebuilt' but not run much, then it could have been something not done/done improperly during the 'rebuild'. I had a 4-bolt main 350 one time that was 'rebuilt'. I was installing it in my school bus. For some reason, I decided to put a higher flowing...

    How difficult to swap turbos?

:ditto: I swapped mine out, and it was very easy except that one stud on the exhaust manifold snapped, so I wound up removing the exhaust manifold to replace the stud. Other than that, it was easy and I'm glad I swapped my C for a D.

Miles per gallon T-case or transmission

I get 8-10mpg in my stock 109 if I don't constantly drive it 'balls to the walls'

    Deuce Fuel

As long as it is filtered properly and the wter is removed, I've found the deuce to be very reseptive of different fuel mixtures. I'm glad it has a variable diet. I burn WMO, WVO, UHO, UTF, E85, Gas, MGO, Biodiesel, diesel, etc. Never had an issue. And I've put about 8k on my truck since I got...

    Food service for Ga Rally

Ferro & wife, +1. Also Sevo +1 The five of us had made a menu, but I'll talk to Chris and see if we will partake in some of the MKT grub. My thoughts are we will. Especially with promises of these fabled cookies I keep hearing about... One thing that Cabell and I noticed in Haspin, was...

CUCV run on bio-diesel? CUCV vs Deuce questions..

The deuce would be more tolerant to different fuel mixtures than the 6.2. I have a deuce and a 2004 dodge with the 5.9. I have run 50/50 in each and up to 75/25 in the deuce during the middle of a long trip with zero issues. I let the oil sit for a month, then I have a fillright pump with a...

    2009 GA Rally-trader on line

Oh, I also have 40-50 NOS wooden bed bows for deuces and 5 tons. I will be bringing them all, so none will be coming home with me. So make me an offer on them! Anyone need a NOS brake drum for a M1008? at least I think that's what it is off of.

    I think I just bought a M818.......

I want a 818 so bad. I've got to start saving my pennies. But too much needs to be done to the 109 to get it up to snuff not only for rallies but getting here ready for Alaska. Very nice looking truck and I look forward to seeing it in person one day. And to those who will have a 5 ton at...
