US Navy MArkings for the HMMWV

The HMMWVs I have seen have had the decals on them, even under any paint that might have been put on them. How have you been? It's been a bit since I have seen you up here. I have seen you on the MVOOC list. You been to any of the events Jerry has organized?

    M997 Maxi Ambulance for sale

Nope, I don't have any. I SHOULD have the deuce at the next meeting. It is the only MERDC one around. If you go to the meeting, stop and intro yourself. If it isn't there, ask around and someone will point my ugly arse out. Stay tuned, there will be a few interesting things happening in the...

    Air Compressor Rebuilder

I know I have promised this a few times in the past, I finally remembered to pull it off of my puter at work and send it to my house. These guys have crebilt compressors for the multi. There might be some others that will work in place of the stock plate mount. Check it for yourself. Brake...

    M60a1 lives!

That was a spur o the moment thing from Craig. He called me Thursday and said he wanted to fire it. Friday I stopped by, got a TM, did some skimming and the next thing you know, there it is. There are mounts on the mantle for your bug light!

    M60a1 lives!

The breech block is gone and there is a ring welded in the barrel about 8 inches up from the breech. Crushing a car!!??? HMMM, now you got me thinking, maybe at the SS day if I can do some persuasion:twisted: As promised, here is a link to a couple of vids, one is still attempting to load...

    Parts for an M917 dump

Those are Freightliner FLD120 chassis trucks. Can you go the FL and order it by vin? Might be easier than trying to fing used stuff.

    M60a1 lives!

Trust me, I wanted to take a few laps around the compound, but there were too many people there. I wanted to take it out in the south field, but the TET festival was going on and there might have been a few issues there with some of the people seeing a big 'ol tank cruising around the field with...

Hydraulic Oil, can you use it is fuel?

You'd turn down free fuel? I am at the end of my "dieselgas" stockpile so now I will have to start buying it! It has been a good run!

    M60a1 lives!

All you local guys, there is ALWAYS a need for volunteers there. C'mon out! I am gonna see if I can persuade Craig into another Steel Soldiers day at the museum. Although it is a PITA to put batteries in that thing, i'd do it again just so others could see and hear it run. Vids should be up soon.

    Depressing day

:ditto:That is the best advice. Once you are stuck on a task that is giving you fits, sometimes when you take a break and come back to it a day or so later, you see another way of approaching the same task. Step back, go have a beverage, go play X-Box, go buy bullets, whatever. It will be like...

    M60a1 lives!

Had a request from Craig to get the M60 going. After a 1 1/2 hour deal removing 5 gallons of water from the battery box...the seal is gone from the top hatch... and installing 6 fresh batteries, it roared to life after 6 years of sitting idle in it's spot at the east end of tank row. The best...

    Counterweights

Probably due to the different mfg's of the engines and the engineers involved. The NHC/NTC used the same crankshaftr for years. In the past few years, some of the newer industrial engines that don't use the lower end journal size of the N14 have had two journals less of counter weight. Dunno...

    Had a interesting visitor

I was pulled over once just for the LEO to look at the truck. I got a tad worried trying to think of what I night have done, but turns out he just wanted to see the truck!

    Turbo oil drain back gasket

If you are there, do the drain line too. It will be easier to take the whole drain line off so you can clean the old gasket off of the turbo and drain line flange. Not a big job.
