I had a vibration in the deuce at 45 to 50 MPH. All the u-joints were good, driveshafts in phase, everything I knew to check was good. I swapped the t-case from a sprag to an air shift and it went away. There might be be an issue inside things that you can't see.
Hey Brock Steel! You can check them with a prybar. When you pry on the dogbone, if the rubber looks cracked real deep, you should replace the dogbone or try to r&r the bushings. If they move and only show no or slight checking, they are good to go. With that said, any time you do offroading, you...
Can't we all just get along? Geez, everyone has trouble spelling at times or has keys that are goofy and don't work unless they get hit hard. We are SUPPOSED to be here to talk about MV's and the fun they bring us. Remember, we don't use spelling and grammer as we used to, say, 30 years...
Nice gathering! Mike, your truck needs to be OD. Ready for a repaint? :-D I didn't think you got sun up there! Just messin' . Looks like you guys had a good time!
I looked for a week. It was easier and faster to get a replacement from one of the surplus guys. The Midland style is the same one used on early Cummins B and C series engines. There are explosions in the parts books, but no parts are available, they supercede to a Holset.
I just find that on-line and PDF style things are tougher to find things in and follow procedures with. I've worked with both...now the electronic versions 99% 'cause that's what Cummins likes...and the paper is better IMHO.
No, no, not trying to do that, just hoped you didin't miss that tidbit, it could lead to not so good things happening! It is very easy to miss things in the PDF style TM's. That is why I am collecting paper now

The Multi fuel part of the engine is in the cylinders...the way the fuel is introduced into the cylinders. The FDC on the pump...Fuel Density Compensator..is what adjusts the metering of the fuel, based on viscosity, into the cylinder. If you chose to use other than diesel, and the FDC is...
SCA...Supplemental Coolant Additives. Added to HD diesel coolant to prevent corrosion, cavitation and dropout. Too much of a good thing can cause issues like w/p seal leakage. Get a test kit if you use a non pre mixed combo.
Driver and all the others that have contributed, this has been a great thread to follow. Thank you.
You guys ever thought about getting together and doing the book thing? The books on Bud Day, Delta Force and the Band of Brothers were all great reads.
It is at the Irwindale AmVets post. 2nd Sunday of the month. It is the SCMVCC's monthly meeting/swap meet. I sell some stuff there. Usually do between $60 and $200 dollars. It is just a small thing. Maybe the next time you come down to Fontana, we can arrange it on the Sunday of the meet.
