The Museum I volunteer at has the sister V100 to the one in your avitar...The one with #2 on the side. It was loaned to LAPD by ASMH.
Welcome from California!
A wet air filter element will cause issues too, better check it!
On mid-80's to mid-90's pickup diesels, white with lack of power meant a clogged fuel filter.
A bunch of restriction will actually cause an air in fuel symptom. The fuel will be pulled apart as it is passed through the filter...
Larcasm...now THAT'S funny!:-D
There were two LARC V's at Barstow that had no drivetrains or engines in them, I think they are the ones Yellowbronc talked about. I looked at them and the hull...body...whatever looked good on them, but when the innards were removed..well, let's just say it coulda...
_Black, not quite enouge air to complete the combustion process...the black is soot, excessive black anyway, the multi's like to run that way:wink:
_White, smelling of fuel, Correct amount of air, just an incomplete burn usually due to cold cylinder temps or timing...kinda the same as black, but...
Single entry turbo has a single, large entry into the turbine housing, (exhaust). The dual entry is bridged so there are two holes into the turbine housing. The settings are different. You will also need to make sure you have 24VDC solenoids installed.
Here's a link to the 425A page, good info...
Yup, everything will bolt up, pan included. Leave the oil cooler on the engie you aer using. The fan drive will swap over and the linkage for the throttle will be very close to what the old engine was. What are you gonna do to cool all that HP? The 350 will be quieter snice it runs thru a...
Take them apart. It wil make it managable with one person. You gotta put new intake and exhause gaskets on it anyway. Saturn Surplus sells the "special" wrench for the ones under the injectors, but they break. You are more than wwelcome to borrow the one I made.
Head gaskets...
Saturn Surplus might have gaskets for the pump. Memphis T&E might also. If they don't, they might know where to get them. IP haed will come off in chassis. There are some TM's here in the resources section. One will have the info needed to do the repair.
That's pretty sweet Mike! I can look out the window and see the snow on the mountains...that's close enough for me. I'm still wearin' shorts, how 'bout you buddy?;-)
I didn't even re check this thread! After a bit of trial and error, decided on a clove hitch...works good, doesn't come loose but comes undone easily when you want it to and works with the short ropes.
It kinda already does...an air to water intake manifold... aftercooling. Since these engines run on the cool side...180 or there about, the intake manifold will do a good job of keeping the charged air at a fairly constant temp close to the coolant temp of the engine once up to operating temp...
I f you are just buzzing around town in stop sign/light to stop whatever, no need to do the 5 min. idle thing. If you are out on the highway, doing close to top speed or had a load on it and pull up to your stop, definatley do the idle b-4 shut down thing.
I love gumbo...thought there might have been an invite to your place here! Good job on the lights. I like the use of the original lookin' switch and plate too!
