    tatra 813 new owner

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Tatra 813 8x8 Congrats on the second find/purchase! Are there any detail images availble, I'm always looking for construction details, electrical in particular, type of connectors, battery wiring etc? Does the "drive train" feature interaxle differentials? For trucks with...

M923A2 came home with me today!

Hi Chris, perhaps you forgot, I'm still interested in the control box. I have looked at power relays for another project and there may be a problem in addition to the ventilation one mentioned before. Another look may confirm some suspicions I have. Thanks

    Foiled by the m35....again!

RE: Re: Foiled by the m35....again! Some of "us old guys" would rather tow the old gal home. :-) I think it has to do with money too. Born in '44......... Panzerbob hang in there, we are here for you! Look for a spare turn signal flasher and read up on how to replace it, you never know .

Deuce leaking oil from base of filter

Great find Marti, that's a sellable item, say, less than $10 for an adapter.....could be kept as an alterenate if the correct filter elements couldn't be found easily.

Deuce leaking oil from base of filter

Here is the bypas filter on the 8x8, the base and filter from D-man (O.D. Iron). It gets hot when the engine is running, so a substantial amount of oil must run through it. The 1749 filter may only be 10 microns, though....

Deuce leaking oil from base of filter

If you are concerned about filterning the oil, go with a bypass filter system. It won't effect the normal operation of the engine and will allow the oil to be heated in the pan when the temp drops (the reason for the upside down filter canisters). Bypass filters are avialble for very fine...

Running Waste Engine oil in the winter

Ken, did you ever send in a sample of the filtered WMO for analysis, it contains a lot of undesirable, potentially harmful elements, to the engine and the environment unfiltered?

    Working the Deuce, Vol. 12,385

Impressive Clinto! Blythwoodjoe installed the dump mechanics, correct? More details, please. Like Kenny suggested, you need power steering for all that tight manuevering, the only time you really need it. The power steering on the 8x8 made turning it around a very smooth operation.

    BigMike's deuce gets finishing touches

Re: RE: Re: RE: BigMike Looks great! For driving, take it a short trip at a time untill you gain confidence and learn to work on anything on it (bring tools). Guess I missed this one, what spring?

Last ditch fuel choices for a Multifuel....

Kenny, fresh restaurant fryer oil has gone up from about $2.85 last year to about $4.15/gal now.... The deli where I get my oil now doesn't change it as often and the used oil is darker. Wonder if there is a difference in the flavor of their fries? :-(

    Measuring diesel/petrol specific gravity.

I believe the graph(s) were posted on this site a couple of years ago, do a search using different keywords...... You can make the measurements yourself if you have an accurate scale. Practical for a few mixes anyway.

    LDT465 Injectors

The turbo was added to help clean up the exhaust (better combustion), the power and fuel delivery is not much different, 10-15 hp or so.

    Urgent: Need AM1780 or part

Ziggy, I have the pcb with the transformers and the A250 amp. The connectors for the A250 amp are butchered, but can be put back together, the A520 board should be okay. I took it apart for the MVM article a few years ago.... I can lend it to you if you think you can use it. No time limit. PM me...

Last ditch fuel choices for a Multifuel....

Re: RE: Last ditch fuel choices for a Multifuel.... True, it heats up to about 120°F or so in the Summer time. Problem is to get it started after a cold night. Heating the fuel tank one way or another beyond selfheating adds a lot of options IMHO, even insulating it would help. I have...

    Urgent: Need AM1780 or part

RE: AM1780 The printed circuit board in the center with the transformers is the A-520 and it has an amplifier module mounted on it, the A-250, which one is missing, both? I don't have amy spares, but it may help to be more specific.

    3 lever light switch question

The parking lights in front (#491) are not connected to the service tail lights (#21), they are separate from the 3-lever switch. Could be a problem with the switch... Study the -20 TM and learn what's supposed to be on for each switch position.

    m55 injection pump

That's not the problem this time, the quill shaft snapped as we have read in past posts. Michael, start by preparing the work "area", remove the front grill, the radiator, perhaps the driver's side fender, study the manuals and start asking more specific questions, please, no point in repeating...

    headlight killer

Where do you get the lights? Odd, since, you don't do that much driving anyway do you? I have only had to replaced one sealed beam since I got the deuce in 1995.
