All of the tires were low when I picked up the truck. One was completely flat, but that was not the one that blew. The one that blew was perhaps 1/3 low on air, similar to most of the tires. I agree, a tire being completely flat for a long time is not good.
I completed the recovery of my M35A3 from Sparta, but not without incident! Mike with GL at Sparta was extremely helpful. With Mike's help, the A3 started without having to be slaved, but just barely. Ether did the trick. I checked the fluids, and all were topped off. The oil and coolant were...
When I picked up my M35A2 from Fort Indiantown Gap in August 2009, it had Interstate UT6Ls installed. They have a date of 2007 on them. So far they have not let me down and they are now three years old. I have noticed that since I got my deuce, a few of the cells need more water than others...
Welcome to Steel Soldiers! Time to get you an MV and have some fun. You will enjoy the site - a lot of good people and good information. I attended War Weekend in Pickering this year and had a blast. You have a lot of MV interest in the UK.
What is the difference between an Interstate U6TL and an Interstate AU6TL battery? I called Interstate and the rep told me he had no idea what the difference was except that they were listed separately. I searched the forum and couldn't find any references to an AU6TL battery.
My coolant heater works fine, including the defroster. However, there are so many air leaks in the truck that I could use a fuel-fired heater. I would highly recommend you fixing your heater. They are relatively simple.
I talked with the GL guys at Sparta. It appears that the truck most likely won't start easily due to the cold and sitting time. They believe the batteries are probably frozen. I've made arrangements for someone with a large wrecker to join me and help me get it started and check it out before...
I don't want to get rid of my A2. I love that truck and it is the same model I drove in the Army way back when. I don't know what I'm going to do.
I plan on recovering the A3 this coming Monday. I talked to the GL rep and he told me that none of the trucks are starting up there due to the...
Wetstacking happens with diesel engines when they are run without sufficient loading, which means they run too cold. Unburned fuel will enter the exhaust stack.
Congratulations on the win. The other issue you have is that the MEP-006A is 3-phase only. If you power your house with it, you will need single phase power. If you try this, the genset load will be unbalanced. I agree with Ferroequinologist that the best option is to sell the genset and try...
Nice looking truck! Brakes are the most important part of the truck. Make sure you check the brake fluid level and top it off with DOT 5 fluid. I wouldn't drive the truck until you fix the faulty low air pressure alarm. Also, never, never slip the clutch on a deuce. This clutch is designed...
