Speaking of Tires: PSA of Stupidity

Drive forward a foot or two, then back up. Anyone who has driven a big truck in below zero weather knows that’s the usual trick

    16R20's fitment without rubbing

We have the 53” tires on ours and yes speed went way up. But we spread the rear axles (obviously!) different rear spring, made blocks to raise the front axle. raised the bed and we used the stock A-3 rims. 5 years in and don’t regret a thin. Our profile pictrue shows what it looks like.

2008 M1078 A1R Maryland to California or Bust!

The engines I have built (aircraft, car, truck, boat gocart etc) have all been built with 1422/8802 a-2, or a-6 sealant. Never EVER seep, leak, nothing. on opposed 4&6 cylinder aircraft engines,my customers always want to use the neat silicone valve cover color (red, blue etc)gaskets. Then I tell them...

Mechanical AND electric lift pump installed by previous owner

I have to ask the obvious question, after reading post after post….etc. about the mechanical fuel pump pushing fuel through the vent line? Why not run this “Vent line” to a tee to the fuel tank vent line?

Bought Someone’s M1078 Camper Project- Seeking Direction on a Couple Issues

Good for you!!! I would recommend a rubber donut mount system? Find a 8 foot metal break to bend some “.032 aluminum (T-3 temper) make 2 inch “C” channels for your stiffeners (studs) run all your 110 ac and 12 volt dc then attach.020 aluminum or plastic wall sheets like a lot of RVs and use...

Good video for restoring an old battery with a welder!

Loved the video, one of the few videos that don’t talk about the weather, other stupid stuff. No um aha’s , no bla bla bla. and yes the theory is sound but after “cycling “ with the welder, Should flush again to remove debris from the plates. Just wish I could get this guy to give me national...

    m35a3 stiff brake pedal

We welded a 9”X3” peddle to our foot brake lever. It’s nice to be at a stop light and have both feet resting on the brake instead of one foot pushing down. And letting others drive your truck it’s a little piece of mind.

What am I doing wrong? Why does my ignition start switch handle not line up?

Is there anyway to “reclock” it? May a splined lever? I’m just not familiar with them but I’m sure someone more knowledgeable than I could tell you

    M35A3 - Opinions Wanted !

In answer to your question, it’s a 27’ single wheel double axle trailer, quite heavy duty empty weight is about 4400 lbs. we have a 16’ double axle aluminum trailer we pull the jeep on for extended camping trips. It’s weight is under 1400 lbs. and of course it’s night and day difference.
