My understanding (as related to me from a CSMS mechanic years ago in Bordentown, NJ) was that if you used the 1008 booster on a 1009, you would go through the windshield when you hit the brakes-- the other way around, you would have "ok" braking when running empty but loaded would show a...
Pull your power wire to the buzzer (under the dash) and check for power when acc switch is on and no pressure in tanks-- you should see 24v. If so, your buzzer is bad. If not, look at the pressure switch for the air buzzer-- it may have gone bad. I am thinking if your other stuff is getting...
Those lights have a set of spring loaded contact brushes that run on a copper disc below the light deck to give power to the lights..... I will bet that one or more of the brushes is binding in its guide and is not making proper contact...... Also, if you look at the center stem, it may be...
I have cooked the following:
- maiden run was some breakfast foods on the griddle
In the years since then:
- rendered down about 100 pounds of apples in the large pots for apple butter/ jellies (we have alot of apples at the LZ in Nebraska)
- cooked full racks of ribs in the field ranges-- In...
Hello all,
So I am working on a truck for a buddy that came with totally stripped out doors--- as in nothing at all. I got some of the door parts coming thanks to Supraman, but I still have some things I need to sort out.
First off, does anyone have door rods that they can measure and post...
Just an update: checked incoming power, and swapped out another controller-- the second controller lights up and functions properly, but the first still does not light up but also functions properly-- still a bit stumped but it is definitely in the controller itself. I just don't know if I want...
To clarify, the later style horn button is what would have been originally used (rubber "puck" with smaller center horn button held in with retaining ring), but when replacements were needed, they used whatever was available.......
I have seen both types on early and late m35 trucks-- I think it was pretty much what was available when a replacement was needed. If you need one, I am pretty sure I have both types sitting in my parts stash. Give me a day or two and I will let you know for sure.
My family has a body shop in Norfolk NE--- too far from you, but I can give you some pointers. First off, find a shop that you are comfortable with-- by law every insurance company has to deal with every shop-- they may try to tell you otherwise but they are then engaging in "steering" which is...
Hello all,
Working on a buddy's lmtv, I came across something I haven't seen before. I have no lights on the ctis controller at all, but it is working perfectly-- it comes online as it should when air pressure builds, and goes through the pressure checks, and will inflate/deflate when various...
I am going to throw in my experience with gauge faces (though they are not truck gauges) --- Back about 10 years ago now, when my dad's company was involved with spray welding, we had an issue with gauges on the spraying apparatus that would get their faces pitted, fogged, etc from the spraying...
I recently got a 16' enclosed trailer off govplanet that is located in Stanley ND. It is your typical enclosed bumper pull cargo trailer but with barn doors instead of a ramp. It has a 2 5/16" ball hitch, electric brakes, and according to the company who made them, weighs in under 3k as it sits...
Is that the one for the cvc helmet (the bail out side like a fat headphone jack instead of two sets of terminals that resemble a 9volt battery)?.......
Forgot to add that batteries, if not the sealed type, will suffer shortened lives when fording-- thats just the nature of the beast. Note: many of the trucks I did for fire depts. usually had some sort of continuous charging (maintainer)-- when they got forded the batteries got about 2 years of...
I have modded 5 m35a2's (in addition to other vehicles) for deep water fording over the years-- Four were for various agencies, the fifth is my own truck. Right out the gate, don't waste your time looking for a deep water fording kit-- they are expensive when found and don't offer much for what...
Honestly, its so far down my list that I will be lucky to start playing with it again later this summer.......... (Then again, I am getting caught up on stuff due to the stay home orders, but I am also doing alot of stuff for family that is vulnerable).............
