Where are you measuring 10 ohms resistance?
Nevermind.
It is very simple.
You have converted your truck to 12 volts right?
If yes, follow along;
There is a bolt on battery positive terminal on the back of the alternator.
There is also an isolated ground on stock cucv alternators that MUST be...
Have you tried to full field #1 alternator?
Jump 12 volts to #2 terminal of the flat connector.
In fact there is a hole on the back of the alternator you can poke a wire through to force the regulator into full field mode too.
That will tell you right there if the problem is in the alternator or...
Be aware that some of those cheap gear reduction starters might be problematic.
Had a 100 buck ebay model that fit when i converted to 12 volt.
But the housing was machined differently than the original 24 volt starter.
Teeth would not engage properly and even bound up.
Swapped the electrical...
Since my exile;
I have replaced all 8 glow plugs.
Installed a new reproduction original style glow plug controller card WITHOUT after glow feature.
Installed a front receiver hitch; Warn model 25855 so I can mount my Warn winch front or rear, along with solenoid isolated wiring to the front and...
I carry no less than a complete standard and metric socket set from 1/4 7mm thru 1-9/16" 26 mm as well as a full compliment of metric and standard box wrenches. Snap ring pliers. Crescent wrenches. oil filter wrench, screw drivers, hub nut socket, brake spring pliers.
This is my "small" travel...
Did you get one of these as well; OTC Detroit Diesel Injector Socket 5060.
I went with the Delphi injectors from KR services on ebay.
Averaging 17 mpg with 3.73 gears and 33 inch tires at 4,000 to 9,000 ft elevation on a mixture of 25% #1 and 75% #2 DIESEL.
Speed limit where I am is 75 mph and i...
Pipe down.
If you want to spend $289 for a new one or $150 for an old one thats great.
I am going to do it for $59.
You can play nice and i'll show you how or you can be nasty and not learn.
Some of you really need to get some manners.
Okay, put up.
Let's see you get a vacuum pump.
Because the part number in the picture on the left in your post does not match the picture.
It is not an emissions pump, it is a vacuum pump.
But actually I hope you have found 100 vacuum pumps.
That would be great.
Quit with the hubris and deliver...
What company?
If you have the answer; say it clearly.
Where can we get a vacuum pump for our 6.2?
Prove what you say or provide us with a phone number or a website we can actually order this part.
Guys have been looking for months unsuccessfully.
Quit playing with us.
Accurate diesel is a dead...
That part number is for a pump that injects air into the exhaust stream aka "smog pump".
What we are talking about here is a vacuum pump.
It provides vacuum to a modulator on the injection pump throttle shaft which modifies that vacuum based on throttle position and sends the vacuum signal down...
I think you will find they don't actually have them.
As they fail, more and more people are trying to get them and many places that say they have them really don't.
I have decided to take a risk and bought the brand new, in the package; "Ford Powerstroke diesel vacuum pump diaphragm" from ebay...
I replaced the modulator on the throttle and it shifts like a brand new truck.
My vacuum pump puts out a steady 20 in hg vacuum at idle.
But I know, having 94,000 miles and 30 years, it wont last.
So I have been watching the auction sites and searching for alternate solutions.
Best world; find a...
Could a diaphragm from a similar pump; such as a Ford 7.3, be swapped onto a GM 6.2?
The older ones sure look the same.
There were a few 6.2 vaccum pumps on ebay but they were n.o.s. and outrageously priced.
When mine goes, I will either try that diaphragm swap or just install a cable actuated...
I dig the dash fan.
It is 22 degrees here, I wish I had need of a dash fan sometimes.
The free state of Texas looks mighty sunny today.
Looks good.
None of the usual leaks are too bad.
Has it's original factory 3R glued in place u-joints in the driveshafts.
Maybe park level, release the brakes...
Looking at the picture of your power steering pump in post #10.
The hose clamp on the return line is the wrong size for the hose.
Could it be pinching and gathering the hose enough to allow air to be sucked into the system?
Also, what are the other two hose claps visible in the bottom of the...
I have always had luck with a simple plumbers torch using MAP gas or even propane cylinders.
Heat the area around the shaft but not the shaft itself.
Takes a long time but when PB Blaster or WD 40 vaporizes and smokes upon squirting it on the item, turn off the torch and quickly spray the heck...
I think I found your auction guy.
Ogden Utah listing for 12 acrtic kits.
One of the is complete and weight 450 lbs!
Okay, maybe I will take a hybrid approach like the op is doing.
M1009 already weighs 5,200 lbs.
I probably should have gone this route with my M1009.
7 degrees here this morning.
All winter my truck will be 3 miles from the lodge where there is no power.
I bought Optilube winter additive and a new old stock, Phillips Zero start propane powered coolant heater.
My injection pump is an...
