The best lockout hubs for a Deuce

I have Selectros on mine with Mraps, check out the pictures and info here: https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?108671-PEASHOOTER-s-M109A3-CAMPER-Build-Thread&p=1376658&viewfull=1#post1376658 (Oh and I sure didnt pay that much either, Yikes!)

I need to borrow an 87-89 USAF dual circuit master cyl. mount temporarily

If nothing else pans out, the company I work for has ordered a $500,000 3D metal printer that I'll be responsible for (and it wont be busy for the first few months so I'm sure I could make some on it for the just the cost of the materials). I'd just need to figure out what material would be...

I need to borrow an 87-89 USAF dual circuit master cyl. mount temporarily

I think the info may be spread out on several threads but there have been many attempts at getting these from the mfg, although you are welcome to try. I think you will find most of us steelsoldiers to be quite frugal. There have been many group buys or attempts that I’ve followed and they...

    M109 restoration

I personally wouldn’t replace brake cylinders unless I saw a reason to (scoring/pitting/cracked seals or dust covers). While you have the hub apart it is a prime time to take things apart for inspection though....but that’s how these smaller jobs turn into larger expensive ones. Obviously If you...

    M109 restoration

It took me an entire weekend for the hub flip (probably a good 12 hours anyway). It probably depends on what you find when the hubs come off (I found some leaky seals). I'm sure its possible for some to get it all done in 4 hours, but if you plan on cleaning things up, re-packing the bearings...

Who is selling adapter plates now?

I think the new steel prices might be why many people quit making these. I stopped making these about 1-1/2 years ago due to a job change and so many other guys selling adapters also. Lately I have been getting a lot of requests to make the MRAP adapter plates again so I had the laser cut blanks...

    Dual Circuit Brake Engineering Thread

I’m not aware of any issues either, it sounds ideal to me. Just make sure to route the larger of the fluid ports to the front axle.

    PEASHOOTER's M109A3 CAMPER Build Thread

I managed to get one more project done on the truck (trailer) this year. I've been wanting to put a door on the front of the trailer's CBC (cargo box cover) for some time so we can get into it easier from the truck side. Originally I had thought of putting some panto graph hinges on it like I...

it shouldn’t be a flat cup. Check out the last photo in post 11 here (it shows the face of both wheel cylinders where the link pins mate) https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?117663-%D8-1-%BD-quot-Wheel-Cylinders&p=1538032&viewfull=1#post1538032

    Ø 1-½" Wheel Cylinders

Has (or can) anyone with an A3 truck measured the front wheel cylinder link pin lengths? I’m still curious what the factory A3 link pin lengths were compared to the A2 trucks.

    Dual Circuit Brake Engineering Thread

Yes, they will work fine but the link pins need modification, see these threads: https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?117663-Wheel-Cylinders&p=1538032&viewfull=1#post1538032 https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?130591-Air-pack-locked-up&p=1625924&viewfull=1#post1625924

    Dual Circuit Brake Engineering Thread

Remember the dual circuit systems have a special 2 chamber tank, or you can add a 3rd tank like you mentioned. If you get the outboard side A3 style tank it may be a quicker nstall though. I think you will be fine with the reservoir located anywhere at or above the original position. The...

Yes, you can use air-brake hose to connect the remote reservoir to the master cylinder. I'm not sure how the seats are installed, I'll leave that to RustyStud to answer. I also dont know where to find any good fitting differential valves. In my case I decided to use a 1.75" bore 60/40...

    Dual Circuit Brake Engineering Thread

I cant say for sure, but i believe either will work. Since its a dual circuit system, its essentially 2 seperate brake systems that share the same fluid reservoir. If it was me, I'd be okay using one of each style airpac if thats what i had on hand.

The 87-88 dual circuit A2 trucks had master cylinders with the larger port sizes which meant they had internal residual pressure valves. It the port sizes are the 9/16 or 1/2" then the master cylinder doesnt have RPVs. Also the 87-88 trucks had 1-3/8" wheel cylinders all the way around and use a...

    PEASHOOTER's M109A3 CAMPER Build Thread

We have enjoyed the "camper" but when using it in spring and fall it can get cold. We had been using an electric ceramic heater that kept us warm but the floor was still super cold. While reskinning it, I had decided to pull up the floor. I couldnt get many of the old floor screws out so I gave...

    PEASHOOTER's M109A3 CAMPER Build Thread

Its been a while since I posted on here, but there has been some progress since last summer. I was able to finally finish re-skinning most of the van box with aluminum skin (both sides, rear sides and small door). The front of the box, roof, and large door still have the original steel skin...

I need to borrow an 87-89 USAF dual circuit master cyl. mount temporarily

I need to crawl under the truck and figure out if there is any good reason for that strange undercut business on the casting in the area you opened up (where the brake pedal attaches). If you look at the pictures in post 1 below where someone modified an M35A3 master cylinder bracket to work on...
