    24 Bolt torque specs?

Hey guys, I have the 24 bolt HMMWV rims, the ones with paired bolts (the heavy duty of the 2 24 bolt versions) and can not find the torque specs any where on SS or the web. Tried TWF and everywhere else. I found the specs for 12 bolt, but not mine. I also know that you re-torque...

    Looking for terminal block/power ideas

I recommend using the Blue Sea fuse block with the ground. I have two of them, each with 12 circuits, powered by a 4 gauge off my distro block then through the firewall- there is a grommet behind the motor, in the curve of the firewall- just use some wire to feed your 4 gauge through. My...

    CUCV owners in southern CA

Hey Brother, I'm interested. I live near Redlands, so I'm not too far. I can't make this trip b/c I'll be in Iowa. But I'm down for future trips. -Dave

    M1009 roof rack

I know it won't apply to all, but I'm here to share. If you've seen my build thread, you've seen my cage. We will do a rooftop rack by having 2" .120 DOM come thru the fiberglass top, with rubber gommets-link below- then a cam-lock to the roof rack. The rack will have 2x3 inch rectangle lower...

    Stuck with no 4WD!

When you say everything was turning, do you mean the front driveshaft was turning as well. If it was and your tires were not, then your diff is blown, the hubs are blown, or the axles are not there???? -Dave

    Water in Fuel

Lindy, I keep the tank full, I pulled the tank last month when I got the vehicle to weld a drain plug in it-b/c it had a hole punched in it- and when reinstalled I plumbed new fuel filler and vent line. All connections are tight. We are scratching our head as well as how water could have been...

    Water in Fuel

Hey guys, Thanks, I forget to state that i did drain the fuel filter several times in the course of trying to get back home. And Westech, with MUCH respect, I have fully read and comprehend the TMs. I have printed them out-the M1009 pertinent areas- and carry them in the truck in a 3-ring...

    Water in Fuel

Hey SS, I forged a river last weekend, and on the way back my WATER IN FUEL light started blinking then stayed on. I could not repair that night due to circumstances, so I added the rest of my Stanadyne bottle to it, (for lubrication). The following day on the way home, with the light still...

    1984 CUCV M1009 build thread

Caladin, No, I do not have access to a media blaster, actually I do, but couldn't use it. The build has slowed as I just picked up another M1009, and I'm trying to buy a 2001 Dodge Ram Cummins now. The M1009 in this thread was meant to be a DD, but as I will be swapping in the D60/14FF axles...

    Is this is a Multi-Fuel 6.2 H1 motor?

Thanks Gimpyrobb, I have researched running WMO in my 6.2s, so I guess that is what I will do. Is there any differences between the HMMWV 6.2 and the M1009 6.2. I will look at the TM right now also. Thanks again, Dave

    Is this is a Multi-Fuel 6.2 H1 motor?

Porkysplace, I am familiar with the above photo. Allow me to revise the question, is/was there multi-fuel 6.2s and if so what year and vehicles did they come in. Were any HMMWVs multi-fuel. I found one MF 6.2 on google images, but it was small and blurry. Thanks again, Dave

    Is this is a Multi-Fuel 6.2 H1 motor?

Ok, I searched this forum, but to no avail, is there photos of the multi-fuel motor so I can just see what it looks like? So this is just a run-of-the-mill 6.2, correct? Thanks, Dave

    Is this is a Multi-Fuel 6.2 H1 motor?

Hey guys, I just picked up another M1009 Blazer, and it came with a spare motor. The seller is an Army LT. and stated that the spare motor is a 6.2 from a 91 H1 that is multi-fuel. Can you confirm this from these photos? The motor is at our shop right, but a sticker on the valve cover has...

Picked up another M1009 and a HMMWV 6.2

Hey guys, Just picked up my 2nd M1009. It needs an IP, T-Case, and rear driveshaft. 49k miles. Needs some body work-dents on doors, tailgate, etc. Had a NP242 t-case in the bed though... The dash is taken apart, along with the intake and IP, but that will actually make it easier for me to do...

    Help!!! Is this serious??

I just picked up a HMMWV motor a couple hours ago, a 6.2, and it has those on each side as well. I thought they were cracks at first also, then after messing with them I thought a flashing, but after seeing your exact situation, I beleive they are just flashings. Can anyone confirm this? -Dave

    doghead relay surprise...

The relay that you found may or may not be a continuous duty cycle. If it is not, it is asking for failure. Do the Doghead mod, keep that for a temp spare. Best wishes, Dave

    M1008 fuel filter, fuel pump, & 60 g's

The wires on top of the IP control the cold-advance start. The IP will advance either 3 or 5 degrees. Make sure these connections are good. I am by no means an expert on the 6.2s, as I just started learning about these trucks 2/14/11. But you may have hit the green wire on the rear of the IP...

Experience with 24V compliant AC kits

Hey SS, It just hit me. If you plan on doing a turbo and air, the hose kit from the NAP civvy kit probably wouldn't work, as the evap cooler on the civvy kit is under the hood and the NAP kit for CUCVs is under the dash, meaning the hoses wouldn't be long enough or would be irrelevant.
