Not going to happen. You will need to find a working RT-524 and all the wiring, mounts, brush guards and antenna if you want a "real" CUCV radio.
if you want to chat with your buddies just get a CB or a handheld Family radio.
I use to go up to tom's place in north wi jUst to shoot the **** and we talked about the head gaskets one time. A trick he told me with the old styles was to use the spray copper rtv and put a light coat on them.
Now I have only seen two styles one with the slobber tabs and the late style with...
Don't bother with the front. If you have locked the rear axles and you get stuck a front locker won't help you much.
Also with a locker you are really going to strain the front axle joints and could stress them to the failing point, they are not large enough to handle the power all on one...
I have said it a 100 times. Change your glow plugs out every other year. I just get the auto lite brand. I can get them at any auto parts store as there about 7$.
I do remove the resistor on the fire wall and power the relay off the junction block. Less of a chance to melt down the card and...

Meaning that the gas exhaust will bolt on to the diesel engine. (pipe not manifolds)
dual manifold kits can be found for $120.00 ish less mufflers.
LMC, Summit...
Or just replace the whole shootin works for 175 bucks and be done with it.
plugs, card, relay and temp sender.
Thats why I say to replace the glow plugs and relay every other year regardless.
For 75 bucks its cheap insurance to not burn up cards and have a good starting CUCV.
I had to replace every inch of my High speed M1008's glow plug control system (control car harness also) and it cost me around 250 bucks (glow plugs, control card, Wiring harness, firewall relay)
The truck starts every time and I dont have a cobbled wire.
2 cents
why not just get the stock system working?
if you replaced the glow plugs and relay your 90% there. The only thing left is the control card and temp switch.
