I would use a flat file and make sure the pipe flange and head are flat. I bet something is warped or maybe cracked. Make sure it's flat and not cracked and just try using paper gaskets and no rtv. Put a little pipe dope on the blots and that's it.
My first deuce would run over 70 mph with 11:00 tires and a lds pump with some work. I ran it towing a M1008 from Wisconsin to Aberdeen. Gimp can attest to that appendix as when I met up with the convoy I passed the convoy like it was standing still. It drive great but she would not even think...
Quotes of the weekend.
Who parked a car in my deer blind?
Who knew ranch dressing would destroy a
Soap dispenser?
I can't take the rubber off with out wrecking it.
More to come.
Just use the stock stuff. It takes 25 years for the springs to go bad. Just slam in new cups and springs and grease everything really heavy. Bam... 25 years to go.
I would only use the kit if running larger then 40" tires.
I have replaced a load of dash wiring harness I. The fmtv/lmtv's. They are 100% crap. Lost a few due to dash fires also. If it not a fuse/relay pop the dash and look at all the browned wired due to over heating.
Re shimming your front axle will NOT cause death wobble . With a 3" lift I used 2* shims in the front of mine. I would use 4* with a 5". Death wobble is due to worn kin pin bushings/ hold down springs end of story.
