The "L" reflectors are delineation markers.
The plugs? Sorry Dont know where to find them. Maybe someone going out to BFR metals in Salina Ks can see if Glen has any good ones on some of the scrap trailers he has out there.
I think what Ron means is, You should not be alone when winching. Especially the winches on most of our trucks, it usually takes 2 just to operate. One in the cab and another at a safe distance watching the cable or helping to finish reeling in the cable after the job is done.
Dont take it so hard. These guys are just looking out for you. The truck does sound like its pretty well FUBAR'd and not a good candidate for a first truck.
The rest..............Well you can tell most guys here put alot of time working on trucks, doing alot of research for parts on these...
Yep, study the pictures of your potential purchase (if an auction) or if you can see the truck in person and see if it has flats. The tires themselves are ok to run if they are not left sitting with a flat. If it has a low tire or a flat on the front change that tire out to one of the rears...
Whats your idea of big tires? The trucks can be fitted with super singles (385's/395's I cant ever remember those numbers) with out a lift or much fab work.
Slim budget? Again how much? Just tires and wheels will set you back a grand or 2.
If you actually want to put a lift under the truck...
Find a MV Museum. Volunteer to help out. Let them know what you want to do and I bet they would be more than willing to help you out. Just be willing to help them out in return if they ask you help with something other than vehicle maintevery once in awhile. (Like sweeping the floor,or moving...
PM sent. Unfortunately, I do better typing than I do talking on the phone. (It was a good running truck when I owned it, I beleive its been only a year or less since I sold it.)
Pics would help. (Pm me the ad link, dont worry im not looking to buy it. Just want to see the pics) I doubt it has a 25K winch on it. My 5ton had the 20K winch on it and the cable was bigger than 1/2 inch And I really doubt it has an air locker in the front end. He probably means it has an air...
Thanks gbooth, as for the original question. I used the frame and suspension under my bobbed truck and the axle got sold to a local for a hay trailer he was building.
Are there any build threads on this? Or some more pictures? I really want to build something like that for the end of the driveway. Since I dont have any trucks right now I need something for a land mark that the neighbors can use like "turn left at the house with the cannon out front"...
Thats not 80. Push that skinny pedal down a little farther and squeeze it to 80 for a sustained run and see how long your motor lasts.
As for the second part. The next truck I see with a bumper sticker that says "loud pipes save lives" Im gonna take those pipes and shove them where the sun...
You answered your own question. Just think what you'd pay out of pocket if you took your truck just down the road and the brakes just go to the floor at the intersection (yes, it's happened before) and you plow into a family in a mini-van and send 2,3, or 4 people to the hospital. I'm...
I didn't call you a liar. I'm just stating that the multi is not the motor you want. I know there are other motors with little HP that will do 80. They were designed to do that. The multi was not.
Ok, I'll buy your explanation, somewhat. (I missed the 5ton axles, was thinking 10lug conversion)
How long did you own that truck? The reason I ask is because the multifuel can be a reliable motor for what it was built for. You start adding power it wasn't designed for (turbos, other than...
