I am just surprised by how many 6.2/6.5 engines that people have put ARP head studs in, that leak. I have used head studs in other engines (not the 6.2/6.5 series) that the studs run into the coolant ports and have never had any issues with leaking. What is it about these engines that causes...

M1010 fire rig to camper conversion

My best friend works at EV West. Some cool stuff from there.

M1010 fire rig to camper conversion

Yeah, sorry to say you are trolling this thread. I don't recall cruzer747 asking for opinions on 8.1L nor looking to swap one at this point in time. I would love to swap to a 8.1L but that will be an issue if/when my 6.2 blows up. Everyone has the right to their own wants, needs and opinions...

    Another M1010 owner

So those down pipes from the manifolds fit correctly? It would be great to have a bolt on system versus having a shop custom make the exhaust.

What is the part number for the exhaust kit as I am not seeing it on the Dynomax website?

M1010 fire rig to camper conversion

Yeah, I am kind of in the same boat. The 6.2 in my M1010 isn't very powerful and though the Gear Vendor OD helped drive-ability, it is still a slug and pulling hills is painful and I haven't even gotten it up to the mountains where it will be even worse. I keep swaying between adding a turbo...

Aftermarket gauge cluster for the squarebody vehicles??

I believe it is a 3 or 4 wire cable. I had actually bought some braided sleeve that I was going to use but figured out I just needed to move the cable on the frame away from the rear spark plug wire. Problem went away so I never used the sleeve. I actually have an HDX setup that will go in my...

Aftermarket gauge cluster for the squarebody vehicles??

I have used Dakota Digital in a number of builds (not a squarebody but other C10's and El Camino) as well as a couple buddies. They have worked great and love the look and function of them. About the only issue I have had, it more my own install related. You MUST keep the wire for the speedo...

Agree, uploaded to the site pics means they will still be around in years to come. Linked pics are always at the risk of an account loss, change in hosting service, etc.

    ORD shackle flip on backorder?

It is very likely they are doing their own in house build of their parts (though they might outsource the laser cutting). I have found over the years that many companies that actual weld their parts together, do production runs of a part. If they happened to have had a higher than normal run...

    1986 M1009 - Glow Plug System Issue?

I rewired mine to use the more common 1/4" spade connector. Only took about 20 minutes, all done in the truck.

M1010 fire rig to camper conversion

Glad you made it through and your home was safe. It is crazy this year up in NoCal area. I remember how devastating the fires in San Diego were in 2003 and 2007. We know people who lost their homes and other where the fire came right up to their property. Scary!

    CUCV Throttle Vacuum Valve Adjustment

Not likely. The VRV would help control shift points. Even if you didn't use any vacuum to the trans, it would still work but would only shift at a high RPM level but still shift. If you had a trans failed (especially a TH400), it was not built correctly (if recently rebuilt) or was already on...

Leaky fuel line from tank to pump

It is in a protected area so it wouldn't be damage. Could be related to helping keep the fuel cooler as inside the rails would trap a lot of the engine heat and could cause issues. Just a thought.

    M1031 finally gets AC

Sweet setup. Exactly which compressor did you buy (model or part #) as I am going to be doing A/C in my M1010 and already pulled the A6 boat anchor.

Anyone Use Inline Tube Brake Line Kit?

Interesting since the item I posted up is specifically their kit for a '81-'84 K30, 1ton, standard cab, long bed, single rear wheel. They listed for dually and crew cab models as well, all for 1 ton. When did you talk to them last? Maybe something they have added since then.

Anyone Use Inline Tube Brake Line Kit?

Yeah, I normally do make my own and the last few vehicles I have been using Nicopp line, which is AWESOME! In all the vehicles I have built over the years, I have done 150+ flares. I have it down to a science. LOL I was just trying to save some time. I am planning to replace the soft lines...

Anyone Use Inline Tube Brake Line Kit?

Hi all, I was looking at my hard lines on the M1010 and they likely need to be replaced when I refresh the brake system. I see that Inline Tube has a full stainless steel kit and curious if anyone has used this. https://www.inlinetube.com/products/sctb8149 Thanks
