Floridason,
I was just going by where they listed the dryer in the parts manual. It was in the section for the CTIS. The way you say it is piped would definitely make more sense.
On the other hand...after doing some research the dryer is only used apparently used by the CTIS system. So if you do disconnect it you'll be putting air that may have moisture in it into your tires. There are several manufacturers listed for the dryer. The one that can be referenced , Haldex...
That is the way the dryer works. When the compressor reaches its pressure setpoint and unloads (goes into freewheel mode and does not pump) that valve on trhe bottom of the dryer opens to purge out any moisture that has accumulated in the bottom of the dryer. You can bypass it and nothing will...
Thats an M35A4 series truck with the LSCS unit (Lonely Soldier Companion System) installed on the passenger side.[thumbzup]
Ths system worked well in warm climates but not so well in cold......I think it had something to do with a lack of insulation on the unit.
The number you listed, TO 35C2-3-499-1, is an air force number.
Go to
Integrated Publishing - Educational Training Manuals
They should have what you need. do a search at the top of the page.
I tried it but apparently there is no -499- manual listed.
you were only responsible for collecting what was owed to you Gimp. You shouldn't be holding stuff for ransom on someone and not give it up until that person makes good to other people he has wronged. Number one it would be wrong of the other people to put you in that situation and number two...
What it all boils down to is........when we ARE put in a position of potentially having an altercation on the road with another vehicle.........I believe we all would do our darndest to try and avoid hitting the person who has caused us to be in the predicament at that moment in time. Lets face...
Drop your transfer case and find out which bearing is bad. if it was mine, I'd splatter the whole case and change all the bearings. You said that the oil had metal in it? That metal, along with the oil, was used to lubricate all the other bearings. So if you just replace the one bearing chances...
Since you have the seal bent out that far either try grabbing it with a pair of vice grips and smack the vice grips with a hammer or take a chisel and see if you can collapse the seal housing.
What we used to do sometimes, when we didn't have another ferrule, was to put the ferrule back into the nut and then set the nut on top of a vise with the jaws opened far enough to let the tube extend down into the jaws. Since that tube looks like 1/4" take a 1/4" drift punch and drive the tube...
That looks like a Parker compression fitting used on hydraulic systems. And it apears that the tube isn't shoved all the way through the fitting. Good thing you took it apart. You could probably knock the old piece of tubing out with a drift and maybe expand it far enough to reuse it, If you...
You can also do it with a test light with a 24 volt bulb in it. Put it in between the battery post and the cable end with charged batteries. If it lights you have a current draw. Then go around and disconnect positive leads until the light goes out. The wire that makes the light go out is the...
