you never use starting fluids on IDI diesel engines…test/replace your glow plugs and test your start box…one thing at a time. Your fuel leak is most likely the fuel lift pump diaphragm and pump needs replacement, could be a lose hose clamp or leaking hose too…quite common on these surplus trucks.

Keep hitting it with starting fluid and you can start an engine rebuild thread…

I’ve only seen these on M1167’s….one came on my 67 and several customer 67’s have them, but never seen one on a 51.

The old style Support brkt can’t be used due to the fender condenser , the ECV and REV’s use a reinforcement plate instead.
