Cold Start = FULL THROTTLE IDLE??? (New Injection Pump Just Installed)

With the propper engine oil not used over 5000 miles you do not need the cold idle up selenoid. In the injection pump the cold advance is the contact on top of the pump with the same harness as the selenoid. This increases the inside pressure by some 3 PSI to actuate the rotation of the timing...

    Unidentified (derelict) tank - Afghanistan

Why Afganistan? These tanks are for sale in Britain, as far as I know, from 6000 English pounds up, depending on condition. The tank an the initial pic is a later version, at least after the T34B with its caracrteristic buble under the gun. So I think it is a T34/85, MY depending on the design...

Current paint color to match a 1958 M37?

In Germany was the equivalent to RAL 6022 brown olive the standard by that time untill they started with the multy tone camo. So, beeing honnest, it is not really the correct coulor, for every maker made it a little bit different, and any lot was a little bit different. If you carefully look at...

GAS M45 Saved From The Scrapper

Beside all the fun that might come up here with that truck. Fact is, as said before: it is a Gas engine, else no foot starter. Second: The steel quality for European understanding is not very high, so welding is not realy the problem, for useually the welding material is of higher quality...

Bubba got hold of a M101A2

O.K., I did not realy pay attention, it was said to be a M101A2, so with inertia overun brakes. So, I do NOT unterstand, why the brake was taken out. The master cylinder is the same as a CJ2 and cheep to buy. The shock absorber is also cheep as surplus. And why the change to a 5 bolt patern? Do...

Bubba got hold of a M101A2

To pull a M101A1 you do NOT need a F350, any M37, M715, M880, CUCV series truck exept the M1009 is good enough to tow it legally. And the fitted wheels realy do not fit optically to that trailer. If the trailer is 8 bolt pattern, anyway, it is a M101A2 with inertia overrun brakes. I did not...

According to the standard US Army trailer designe it sould be some 10 percent of the trailer curb weight. And this technically makes sence. Wolf

    M200A1 recovery / brake question

Not uite like the M105, however simelar. But to pull that trailer even with a full size pick up to my understanding is far out of the security understanding everybody of us MV collectors shoud have. A 2000 lbs plus trailer towed without brakes is quite a deal bejond safety. Wolf

    Opel Blitz

The camufaged Opel Blitz is a 3 ton truck, the grey one is a 1.5 ton truck. sS it is in the wrong part of this forum. Should be rated WWI trucks or at least below 5 ton. Wolf

    Shackle Pin Grease Problem

There is a change, which sometimes helps: Lift the cassis that the axle is hanging free. Then try to apply greese. If this does not help, remove the fitting and get all the old grease out. Also remove the hanger and get the old greese out of the greesing hole. Than it will work. At least at my...

I used Ranchos for 300,000 plus Kilometers and they were no bad deal for relativly little money (some 40 Euros each). With the relation to Kilometers they have been cheep. Wolf

Need some tire options for the M715

For the original 9.00-16 the propper replacement is 255/100R16 or 285/85R16 of at least 8 PR. 11.00R16 also fit on the original rims, however the spare will not fit in place any more. 7.50-20 is very close to the original tire size. 9.00-20 might also fit. Everything larger needs modifications...

Valve Adjustment? Do the CUCV 6.2L require a valve adjustment?

First, as said indirectly before, the valves are fited with hydo lifter caps, so they do not need any adjustment, if the basic setting is done correctly. sSond will be no carbon setting on the intake valves for it is a DIESEL engine. Third if you look for help for engine repair beside the Army ...

Poor ground is not possible, else high beam would not work. So fuse shot or switch is bad, which is common with the age of the trucks. Wolf
