If there is anything I can help you with let me know,
but there is a fellow SS member here also from Holland that goes by the name cundupa . He'd be your best bet, I'd give him a PM. He owns/operates a excavating company here locally. He's a good guy, and knows equipment, so that's where I'd...
I have two sets of the V-treaded 48x31's, both sets with 2 1/2ton 6-bolt pattern wheels. One sets on my mud bogger. The other set is just sitting there in the barn, but I haven't put them on the shorty Deuce yet. I am going to put them on the Deuce when I run it in the Memorial Day parade this...
LEDs produce very little heat, compaired to a standard regular incandesant light. Do LED head lights put out enough heat to melt the snow off them, if you use them in the winter?
If not, I could see them getting snow covered, just like the rest of the frontend does and not giving you the...
Most of the time the shoes just stick to the drum, but it does sounds like your cable is the problem like you say. As for your cable freezing, and to keep it from freezing, remove it from the truck and lube it. As long as it's good and lubed, it should not give you any more problems.
For...
Yes, tom's right, all the axle widths are the same with the "hub flip". There's no need to have multiple wheels with different off-sets on the same truck.
Don't forget, with your intended engine/tranny swap. The front winch PTO is driven off from the transmission. Swaping to a different tranny, might eliminate that PTO output for the winch. It's just a thought.....
Adam,
If you don't mind, and your over that way, would you mind taking some pictures? That way it adds a visual to whats available and whats not. Kind of a, how much meat is still on the carcass....
A 5-ton's long front fenders always looked goofy big to me. Like they were going to put two front steer axles under them. But at the last minute right before production they chainge their minds, but kept the long fenders anyways.
(taking an uncalled for, jab at the 5-ton guys);-)
Thanks for all the replies (yes even you Westech)
I found, (oshpunit987's) link to be the easiest to use. So my findings are that, when running the 53" tires, it'll be like having a 5.07 gear ratio in a stock Deuce with stock tires. (granted the 16.00's will have more drag than a 9.00 NDT)...
Ouch........I didn't know it was a forbben question LOL......and I did Google, but all I could come up with is RPM's at a given MPH with a 53" tire. Not the overall ratio number that I was looking for, compaired to the 40" tire. And yes, maybe 395" would be better, but I had came across a great...
I see a few guys with bob'd Deuces that run the 53" XZL's. Although I have a set mounted on wheels, I have yet to bolt them on the Deuce. I'll get around to it, when I take the old Deuce out of winter storage, in the spring.
Anyways, I'm not an math expert and I can't find what I'm looking...
cyber.....It's non stock that way. The pioneer tool rack was originally under the Deuce 12' cargo bed right above the spare tire. I can't take credit for placing it there. When I was cutting up the truck and fitting the box, Pierre Jalving stopped by ( he has a huge collection of MV's, A+...
There's a small Podunk town south of me that has an annual 3-day "Goose Festival" with a parade that falls on the 2nd day. Fenville is know for farming and goose hunting (hence the goose festival) A couple weeks back I had my Deuce outside, parked in front of one of the barns. An older gentelman...
