    Tie rod end cross reference

rods and ends are different based on what truck you have…All A2’s and above use shorter rods than A0-A1, the control arm covers are a different angle. The radius of the Rod ends has changed as well, but are interchangeable on any model despite that radius change.

is there a difference between front and rear shocks ?

the TM will always show front and rear shocks, but it not necessary to run them that way, Ive run 0070, 0071’s on all 4 corners for 30yrs, lately I’ve been using 0072’s….they are rears, but used on all 4 corners

Trans Light on when the Run Switch is Off?

You guys need to break out the schematic, the transmission and it’s associated components are all 12v, The input voltage at the Trans relay from the ignition is 24v, once 24v is presented, the relay closes, this forces the adjacent 12v relay to close and supply power to the TCM and Transmission...

    Differential options

If your truck is pavement queen, the stock diffs is all you will need, lockers are for off road, if you use BTM “been using BTM for 30yrs” correctly, you have no need for ARB or E-Lockers.

    HMMWV 6.5 Lift Pump Life

Once the pumps are introduced to ULSD Diesel, it’s a matter of time before the diaphragm gives up and it starts to leak from the seam. I keep a stack of pumps on the shelf, I only stock the AC Delco brand… not that I’ve found it makes a difference.

    Injection pump

Model of pump is dictated by the model year…DS4 pumps didn’t make its debut till I believe 1994, so 1983-1993 still ran DB2 pumps in Civilian trucks, the 92-93 H1 has a DB2. DS4 pump is all ECM controlled for fuel management

What am I getting into with an auction truck?!

Anyone buying an ECV and having owned and driven an A2 is going to be let down by the 3.08 gears… I still get about a call a week from some new owner or shop asking if there is a problem because the truck is Tac’ing so much higher than the A2 truck they own or owned. As far as REV and ECV...

    change of the gear ratio

An M998 already has the best gear ratio of 2.56, making it even lower IMO would “as it appears you have found” make it a slug at low speeds. The absolute best thing for an m998 is a 4 speed transmission.
