It is a CUE57-6DY-TM, looks like it was a pretty limited production run for the militery, but it is all off the shelf commercial stuff painted green. The military says 15cfm at 175psi, but the compressor itself in civilian service is rated at 18cfm.
The battery is deader than a doornail, but...
Normally, you would be correct. 2 batteries in series on a 24v truck do not require all that, or independant alternators. 2 batteries parrallel in a 12v truck do not.
But a CUCV isn't 12v, and it isn't 24v.
The CUCV is unique. Only the starter and glow plugs are 24v. Everything else is 12v...

Sta-Bil Marine Fuel Treatment is claimed to counteract the negative effects of ethanol in small engines like this. My suggestion is to traet all fuel you...

My first piece of advice- forget a HMMWV. Get an M1008 or M1028 with a slide in wildland unit. It will work far better than a HMMWV, be more...
I now where there are a couple 250's that still have most of the gear in them. Racks, mounts, and some of the radios and componets. They were were the sets with the GRC-106 sets and teletypes.
