Trey, Yes you will need a class B. Having driven many miles in a similar truck with the fire dept, i can tell you the AC is marginal here in houston. Ripping out the insulation will be iffy. The truck i was assigned to you could disengage power to the front axle but not the rears. With the...
I had progressive up untill 3 months ago. I had them since 1999. They sent me a letter saying my postal truck would no longer be covered. I called customer service and told them i didnt have a postal truck. They informed my it was my 1986 D30. A postal truck. That vehicle is in fact my...
IF you used too much grease assembling the ring gear will not slide in and out. keeping it engaged. Also put the hubs in free and the tcase in 2wd. Then try turning the front driveshaft by hand. Rock it back and forth to get the hubs to release. If the drive line is binding fron driving it in...
If your filters were dirty. Then the pick up screen on the lift pump is probally dirty also. If you don't hear it runnning check the fuse under the cover on top of the pump. If the pump has enough trash in it, It will drag the pump down and blow the fuse.
I wound suspect dirty injector nozzles. If the sea foam is making it run smoother its probally getting a more complete combustion. Most 6.2 timing issues come from a timing chain that is streached. Not a IP out if time.
The "D" has a extra heat shield between the turbine and the bearing housing. A much larger bearing. And wider piston ring seals. I have modified many C casings for guys here to get them to flow as good as a "D" . If you like the sound then stick with a C. If you work your truck then get a D...
I just swapped one for a M270 drop deck. They are great trailers. My only gripe is i wish the landing gear went up a couple of more inches. You have to run up underneath them. If you decide to scrap it id love to talk you out of the wiring harness.
You will get some oil blow by untill the turbo gets hot. The seals will expand and seal off. They look like little piston rings. That really doesen't sound too excessive with only 5 miles.
The regular SBC flex plate will bolt to the tourqe converter. And the starter will work also. You just wont neet the front brace for the starter anymore.
I tried searching but didn't come up with what i'm looking for. Does anyone know a civi part number for u joints on the rear drive shaft? From the transfer case to the rear axle? Thanks
Could you drive another vehicle onto the scale? Tell the weight master you just want a recipt of weight. No vehicle info. Then put in your own info if you need to. I have used CAT scales here in texas. The weight master will leave it blank if you tell them too.
I prefer the hard tops. Much quieter to me. Living in south east texas it is both hot and humid. Usally well above 100 deg in august. I learned a trick from kenny here on steel soldiers. Roll the windows in the doors up. Then open the windshields. This will pressureize "did i spell that...
Hello and welcome. My latest CUCV was just like yours. But i pulled the utility body and put a M1008 bed on it. I too love the NP 205. But i put a old school tail shaft on it and had a new driveshaft built with the stub and slip yoke in it. Other than that it's stock. I'm running 235/85-16...
Don't forget the pump in the fuel tank when you do your PM. Pull it out and clean the pickup screens with a good carb or brake cleaner. They usally have sludge built up on them.
OIl seeping from between the block and heads does not mean you have a bad head gasket on these engines. The blocks have small slots milled in them to relieve gases. This will make the engine slobber oil all over itself. Believe it or not this is normal. Jesse, I would suspect the rad cap first...
