I hooked a multimeter up to mine and nothing showed. Not sure if it is not going to show anything or if mine is dead.
I too am interested in working it so I could add a tach for under $50 or use a gas one I have laying around.
Are those the wrangler rtII bias ply's your putting on? I just put a set on my truck and they ride nice. Just keep them down at about 30 psi or they like to follow grooves in the road and bounce right around 60, but other than that they ride real nice.
Just got mine cleaned out (pulled one of the side tanks off and cleaned each tube) and fixed for $70 and it looks as good as new. Might just want to do that.
I was just saying if you are gonna throw a 14 bolt FF in gonna wanna run 8 lug hubs on the 10 bolt, but ya the d44/10 bolt are almost the same strength wise and thats what everyone I know runs with their 36-38's no problems.
Add a cooler, check the driveshaft, and dont get too heavy on the...
So far I can only lock them if I am breaking in a panic stop situation which was the same as the old axles so there isn't much of a difference. They need to be adjusted a little but they work well. If they are working correctly you should be able to lock up the tires at full braking as there is...
Normally if you kill the battery from leaving the lights on or radio or anything 12v the front battery is dead the rear is ready to go. Therefore you just need to jump the front one and it will start.
Stock M1009 + 36's = cooked tranny
The gearing in the axles of a m1009 are 3.08. With the oversize tires the gearing becomes ever higher. This is good for top end speed, but makes the engine and transmission work harder which builds up heat. The engine can handle it and stay cool with a...
How is a mv going to be any more damaging that the civvy equivalent of the same era? A 1 ton 6.2 chevy is going to plow through a civic just like a m1008 will. A semi or dumptruck is going to hit just as hard as a deuce...I dont see how the whole MV thing is any more dangerous. As for the camo...
If your not planning on running more than 36-38" tires a d44/14bolt combo will work just fine and save you a lot of $$. I just did that swap on my 1009 and it cost me about $400 for two axles that I could bolt in and run without changing a thing.
Im installing one as well but just a small one and am putting it under the dash and then installing an outlet under the 24v jumper up front and one where the ash tray is.:grd:
That wont prevent it from even having first gear...unless the pump is so shot that the truck is making less than the 40hp needed to run the tranny and even then....
If you took the governor out and put it back in might have stuck in a funny place when it was parked and directed the fluid weird...
The 700r4 did come behind the civvy diesel blazers and I know a few people who wheel the civvy 6.2 with a 700r4 and so far no problems. But my th400 just died and I looked at a bunch on info and decided to stick with the th400 over the 700r4. The 700r4 is more likely to die and more $$ to...
