Regarding blow-by, did you make sure the gaps on the piston rings were as far apart from each other as possible, as if they line up this can cause blow-by. Also do the rings have to go on a certain way up. On our engines at work our piston rings have a top face and a lower face,
some of our...
Hi again, done some more reading of the parts TM'S. It looks to me that #12301170 is the part number for a complete axle set and #75321767 is the number for individual shoes.
It's amazing what you can find out if you take some time to read the TM's
Hi all, I don't want to hijack this thread but I am looking to buy a set of brake shoes for my M35, and I noticed that on a certain aution site that there are shoes listed under two different part numbers. #12301170 and #75321767. My question is are they the same item just under a different...

Hi Valance.
Sorry for the confusion but it is sbredhold1 that has the problem with his truck and not me,
I was just commenting on another members quote about this problem, I am always reading the TM's about these trucks, to improve my knowledge,
This site and its members are a mine full...
I have been reading up on this but never thought to look in the 5 ton TM'S, seems to be much more info here than in the 2 1/2 ton TM'S. I take it that they are almost an identical set up?
Hi all, I may make myself look stupid here ( but someones got to say it) if it says gear oil on the tin, surely that's what it is for, and if it says engine oil that is the place to put it, The clues in the name.:-)
If you do pay for someone to repair your axle for you, ask them if you can watch or help them do it, then the next time it happens you may be able to do it your self.:D
HI dmetalmiki, Is the axle set up the same on the 5 ton trucks as the 2.5 ton trucks, as this is a 5 ton TM, if so it looks like some more informative reading.
many thanks, mark
Sorry for all the questions but I am new to suspension systems and I am trying to get my head around it all,
and the more I understand the safer I can make my truck by being able to spot problems early.
Thanks for your replys, so is this lateral movement is down to the flexibility of the dog bone joints being made of rubber. If so does this mean the more worn the lower dog bone ends the more lateral movent will be seen in the axles.
Hi all.
I have been reading a lot of threads lately about rear axle lateral movement and alignment, most of these threads seem to be quite old and have no definitive answer to the mentioned subject. Some saying there should be some lateral movement of the axles and that it is OK as long...
I'm looking at doing a complete axle overhaul soon. I have found a step by step guide for the front axles but cannot find one for the rears, i'm sure that there used to be one on here, I have the TM'S downloaded so I understand what to do, and that you can take the duals off together with a...
Hi rustystud,
here is a parts dealer to add to your list that I use, they are also in the Netherlands, so quicker for me to get parts from as I am in the U.K: www.truckpartstrading.nl I don't think they sell hydralic heads but do stock a lot of other parts.
Hope this helps,
Thanks for the replies, l can not find any identifying markings on it and the heatshrink does look a bit suspect, It does have a wire with a BNC connector fitted to the base that enters through the side of the cab
i like the idea of a turn indicator warning though. I will have to see if I can...
When I bought my truck it had this anttena on it, can anyone identify it as it seems a bit strange that it has a light bulb in the end of it
So is it a real anttena or is it something that has been put together, thanks in advance. Mark
