    Found these in the oilpan

I actually have the turbo off as I am doing HG on the truck right now too - fortunately it is in great shape - tight, good spin with no play in any direction. The silver lining in all this ;-)

    Found these in the oilpan

Can you explain this one for me a little better? Not sure I follow, and if I need to do it before I order parts it's next on my list.

    Found these in the oilpan

I pulled the oil filters today. The first thing I noticed were small metal shavings in the bottom of the filter well. I opened up the filters and found metal fragments in the filters themselves. Fragments did not respond to magnets. After dropping the pan I took a good look at the crank - it...

    Found these in the oilpan

Definitely piled up material vs something threaded. Looks like something rotating shaved a small amount each rotation and it built up. I am picking up my air compressor today that I lent out so I can drop the oilpan. Good call on the filters Will. I will cut them open to see what they show.

    Found these in the oilpan

My truck is dumping fuel in the crankcase via the HH. I am waiting on new o-rings to take care of it, and in the meantime I drained the oil in preparation for replacing it all. I drained ~13 GALLONS of liquid out of the oil pan (you can imagine the mess when my usual 5ga oil catch pan didn't...

    Injector rebuild?

The 3rd o-ring is on the lever that goes into the side of the HH through the IP (you had to remove it to get the HH out.) Here's the size: Actuator O-Ring: .426 x .070 = -013 or 013 Viton will work, as will Buna N Nitrile

List your reason behind your MV

To get chicks. I didn't see that in the poll though......

Deuce pulling down a tree: Damocles sword removed from my ducks and chickens heads

That was a good sized tree! My favorite part though is the ducks running out at the end ;-)

    Injector rebuild?

Did they tell you where in the pump the leak was coming from? Why it was leaking (bad gaskets and seals, shot mechanical seals, broken/out-of-spec components)? I'd be dubious of a place that can't/won't tell me exactly what is wrong. This could be a case of rebuilding the entire house because...

    Fix for a leaky FDC?

The 2 digit number (usually 40-90) is a measure of hardness. 'Standard' for these is 70, bigger numbers mean harder compound. They run in increments of 5. Not sure on the V, viton is a good guess.

    Fix for a leaky FDC?

The o-rings I mentioned are in the hydraulic head, not in the FDC. FDC does not affect your ability to run alternative fuels in the deuce. With your FDC bypassed you are still able to run the same variety of fuels you could run pre-bypass.

    Fix for a leaky FDC?

I did a little research and found that there are industry standard sizes for o-rings, typically 3 digit codes. Not sure who everyone is using for a supplier but I ended up going here: www.applerubber.com. After Napa failed miserably, it turns out if you set up a free account with applerubber...

    Fix for a leaky FDC?

Cheers Gimp, headed to Napa today to see if they have them in stock. Hopefully this resolves the issue - if not I'll PM you re: your extra FDC.

    Air leak - behind dash

When I picked mine up from GL the air pressure regulator (mounted on the firewall behind the dash) was adjusted poorly, causing it to leak air out anytime it hit ~60psi. It was an easy fix - remove, disassemble, clean & lube and reassemble. The hardest part was getting to the darned thing.

    Fix for a leaky FDC?

Bingo. I popped the cutoff cover off today and found a pool of fuel inside it. I turned on the in-tank pump and almost instantly had fuel dripping from the HH. At a minimum from the O ring where the accelerator shaft goes in the side of the HH, and possibly from the internal O rings as well...

    Fix for a leaky FDC?

Cheers Gimp - I'm going to check my HH monday per DH's tip to see if that's where my leak is. If it's the FDC I will be looking for a replacement and will happily take it off your hands.

    Fix for a leaky FDC?

Thanks DH. I wanted to keep the FDC in the loop because I tend to run A LOT of different fuels in mine - my understanding from my reading is that the FDC ensures a consistent power output amongst the different fuels. Tks for the tip on the HH - I will check that out as soon as the weather...

    Fix for a leaky FDC?

I have a leaky FDC (I assume: truck's making oil and I found diesel on the backside of the shut-off valve.) I thought I read a thread at some point from someone who fixed their leaking FDC, but I cannot get search to find the thread for me. I know it's easier to bypass it, and it's not...
