A'ight- after reading through these posts I am a little confused. I was working on the truck the other day and earned myself a lightshow through my carelessness - arcing off my starter and 'welding' my exhaust pipe (using my socket wrench :(.) Ironically enough I thought about disconnecting my...
Napa has a sale going right now that the herculiner kit is $60 with another $25 mail-in-rebate on top of that. It makes the normally $100 kit $35 - a smokin' deal. It only comes in the black kit, but some folks have success spraying over it while it is still a bit tacky.
Tower Park isn't far from me at all; I'd be in for that one assuming the dates were workable. It might have to be a day-trip for me, but it shouldn't be more than 90mins from my place, so very do-able.
I was in the local box auto store today buying engine degreaser (seperate thread on that issue....sigh.......) and a guy walked in with ~5ga of WMO. I asked the guy behind the counter and he let me walk out with it. Went right into my pre-filter barrel ;-)
I set mine up with a 75micron...
I wish. I need the rain to stop, the boss to get back from vacation (so I'm not doing my job and his) and the wife to get better (so I'm not taking care of her and the kids) then I can get back to the deuce. I had just enough time this weekend to break it :-(.
Could an exhaust/muffler shop fabricate a new j-pipe? It seems like it wouldn't be too complex a job for guys that do this for a living.
Mine will eventually give out - but my gut says I am years from that still. That means there will likely be no j-pipes out there when it gets to be my turn.
I finally got serious on my cargo cover project for my M105-bobbed deuce. When I bought the trailer it came with 9 of the 10 requisite bow pieces (all wood was rotten/gone.) I got a new metal support w/corner only to find that mine were not regulation length evidently? The 'new' one was MUCH...
This was a definite change for my truck - I've NEVER sprayed oil like this before, so something new. It tells me it doesn't have to be that way, and I'd like to fix whatever is causing it. I even had oil sprayed all down the passenger side of the truck :-(
I made a dump run today, and noticed during the ride that my oil pressure seemed lower than normal (~45psi at WOT, normally I would get up to ~60psi) When I got back I saw that there was oil spray all over the passenger side of the truck, I peeked underneath and saw my front axle completely...
Thanks to all the folks on here that are the risk takers. I bought the OD green Behr from HD last week so I could refinish my bows and put on my new-to-me cargo cover. The paint so far has worked GREAT. Took a bit of tinkering to get the thinning correct, but then it sprayed pretty well...
What did you use to drill the holes in your bumper? I want to do something similar but with fog lights on mine. Just the thought of drilling through that bumper though is making me shudder.
