I can actually fit with my 6 year old in my lap but the wheel will rub her belly. I am fairly thin but I'm tall. I have more trouble with leg room than I do steering wheel clearance.
There should be enough threads on the rod unless you have other problems. Just look at the other end of the clevis and make sure you don't screw the rod all the way out of the clevis.
I'm not sure about moving the lever on the splines. It's been a long time since I've had that part apart...
I put a 24v electric fuel pump on mine when my stock pump went bad. I haven't had any flooding issues with it.
I also swapped out the factory waterproof ignition with a civilian one. I kept having ignition problems with the stock setup and parts are kind of expensive for it.
I haven't had the...
I use the spray copper on almost all head gaskets I install. The only ones I don't use it on is head gaskets like on the Cummins that has all the rubber parts. I know most gasket makers say to install them dry but I've never had a problem with it, I have had problems installing them dry.
The brake shoe sticking to the drum on M939 trucks is a very common problem. I've had to hit them pretty hard with a big sledge to get them to break free. The A1, A2 trucks are much easier to get access to the drum.
I honestly don't think you can hit a drum hard enough to hurt it unless it...

About the only way to know the condition of the injector pump is to see if it will pump fuel. If it won't, you'll need to service it or...
If they ever do release them, that could turn into a problem. The government sells them as "off-road use only" and then they start showing up going down the hwy.
Kind of like when they cut M151s in half. When the government found out people were welding the halves back together, they promptly...
On the fuel hoses, you can cut the fittings off the hose and just pick up some replacement fuel hose of the correct size at the local auto parts place.
What you do is remove the thin metal crimp on the fitting taking care not to cut into the hose too deep in the process. I usually use a bench...
I've had a few originals that were low mileage and pretty much original in every aspect. The problem I had is I didn't want to drive them in fear that I'd rack up miles or break something that couldn't be replaced with an original part, making it no longer a original.
I finally decided I...
