About to pickup my first M715. Learn me things.

I just uploaded one of them to the site without problems. If I can, you can too.

    Steering wheel space: poll

I can actually fit with my 6 year old in my lap but the wheel will rub her belly. I am fairly thin but I'm tall. I have more trouble with leg room than I do steering wheel clearance.

    Clutch adjustment clevis removal?

There should be enough threads on the rod unless you have other problems. Just look at the other end of the clevis and make sure you don't screw the rod all the way out of the clevis. I'm not sure about moving the lever on the splines. It's been a long time since I've had that part apart...

    Road trip to Ringgold Ga.

Well actually we've kind of been on tight lockdown and loaded in light of some area break-ins but I guess we can let you by security.

    Clutch adjustment clevis removal?

Sounds like you need to lengthen your rod.

    Road trip to Ringgold Ga.

I don't know which way you are going but you know where I am if you need anything. On second thought, if you are coming through my way, let me know.

About to pickup my first M715. Learn me things.

I put a 24v electric fuel pump on mine when my stock pump went bad. I haven't had any flooding issues with it. I also swapped out the factory waterproof ignition with a civilian one. I kept having ignition problems with the stock setup and parts are kind of expensive for it. I haven't had the...

Movie Vehicle Rental - Central Texas

Dang, I'd own me a tank if I knew I could rent it for $4K a day. Wouldn't take long to pay for it if you could keep it rented.

    Old style head gaskets

I use the spray copper on almost all head gaskets I install. The only ones I don't use it on is head gaskets like on the Cummins that has all the rubber parts. I know most gasket makers say to install them dry but I've never had a problem with it, I have had problems installing them dry.

LDS VS LDT and the real differences

I think Gimpy broke a crank.

Movie Vehicle Rental - Central Texas

Blowing up a authentic military Jeep is going to be expensive, even if it is a non-runner.

    M931A2 Rear Wheels Locked

The brake shoe sticking to the drum on M939 trucks is a very common problem. I've had to hit them pretty hard with a big sledge to get them to break free. The A1, A2 trucks are much easier to get access to the drum. I honestly don't think you can hit a drum hard enough to hurt it unless it...

Military use for 6x6 and 8x8 amphibious ATV's?

Allis Chalmers made one called the Terra Tiger. I don't know if the military ever fielded one but AC did have a bunch of military contracts. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jlTC4R1ovww

LDS VS LDT and the real differences

The info should cover all the brands as they are the exact same engine.

    Newbie with MEP-003 Questions

I wouldn't be too worried about junk on the outside of the pump. It's what got in through that open hole where the line went that will cause you problems. About the only way to know the condition of the injector pump is to see if it will pump fuel. If it won't, you'll need to service it or...

HMMWV's for sale, no longer maybe, it happened

If they ever do release them, that could turn into a problem. The government sells them as "off-road use only" and then they start showing up going down the hwy. Kind of like when they cut M151s in half. When the government found out people were welding the halves back together, they promptly...

    Newbie with MEP-003 Questions

On the fuel hoses, you can cut the fittings off the hose and just pick up some replacement fuel hose of the correct size at the local auto parts place. What you do is remove the thin metal crimp on the fitting taking care not to cut into the hose too deep in the process. I usually use a bench...

HMMWV's for sale, no longer maybe, it happened

Not until they sell all the WWII Jeeps they have in the warehouses.

original vs. restored, how are they valued?

I've had a few originals that were low mileage and pretty much original in every aspect. The problem I had is I didn't want to drive them in fear that I'd rack up miles or break something that couldn't be replaced with an original part, making it no longer a original. I finally decided I...
