I am posting the pictures for this member who kindly texted them to me! He is (self-declared) picture upload challenged.
He says: "We put a TAS 65 powersteering box on ours

I can make a new harness for the civilian LED headlights and solder everything nicely, I can crimp the military connectors and put it all together. But for the life of me I cannot get the three locking screws for the headlight bucket rings lined up so that all three of them actually grab. One...
How to remove, replace the door and how to rehab interiors (glass, window channels, locks etc.):
http://www.jatonkam35s.com/DeuceTechnicalManuals/TM9-2320-361-24-2.pdf (TM 9-2320-361-24-2)
Swapping the door was straightforward. The problem was that the door, new hinges and all, did not sit...
Just spent half an hour trying to fish the door opening limiter rod out of the hollow area where the pop-out cab vent sits. I was surprised how much crud and leaves and general dirt collects in there.
Open the vent, grab the spring from the outside and gently push it down and in to unhook it...
Fender weatherstripping/body gasket - fender welt - fender bead
I know I saw it somewhere here long ago but cannot find it - where can I get the gasket/weatherstripping between the front fender and the cab? Any specs etc. on it?
I have a Vickers power steering pump off a 5ton multifuel to go onto my LDS. Does anyone know whether different belt lengths are required - and what they are - or does the pump fit right into the existing belt pathway?
I located two M35 in a truck scrap yard close to me late last year. They are the Canadian licence built versions. They are rough...dash ripped out, fender missing, one bed missing etc.
BUT they do have some parts I would like to salvage as nice upgrades to my truck, especially the power...
This is an update to an old thread that suffered inactive links:
https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?48620-Head-gasket-repair-walk-through
The threads below contain pics, videos and tips on how to do the job!
https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?148514-Head-Gasket-Repair...
I did not want to hijack someone else's thread with this.
Given that the military inclinometers come from the LMTV series (or even other trucks and equipment), the range of the scale and the red marks may or may not be useful for the M35A2.
The US Army Tank Automotive Command did not...
I have a super running refreshed LDS in my truck. During the refresh I had peeked into the fuel shutoff and down the holes in the HH and it looked clean. I did therefore not mess with it.
The weird thing that is happening is that I drive along, engine giving me full power, accelerating fine...
In case you need to replace the grease fitting on the drive shaft U-joints:
1/4 -28 short thread, Lincoln type 5010
I had a broken one (could not get the stuck inner part out and I replaced another one and still can't get grease through. I guess the old grease inside has hardened to the point...
I need to replace a pinion seal and looked at the replacements. They look different than the original seals that are in the axle (dare I say..."cheaper"). I can't figure out which side faces the oil side.
Here is a pic of the seals from a vendor...
"More space behind the steering wheel - move the steering column bracket higher"
This advice has come up a few times in different threads. I decided to investigate whether this really works.
Description of the setup:
- the steering column attaches to the steering box without a U-joint. While...
I finally made it to a local scrap yard that spans acres. It has a lot of fire trucks, OTR trucks and all sorts of equipment. I found an air ride seat out of a late 80' International cab. Price was right, $50.
I wanted to make this work with the high-back HMMWV seat that I already had.
Humvee...
I hit the mother of all potholes today on a farm road. It looked harmless, but..oh boy. Anyhow, my height-adjustable HMMWV seat slammed all the way to the bottom and stayed there. It now no longer locks at height.
It adjusts height by means of two toothed half circles on either side that are...
I was idly watching a couple of videos when this one caught my eye: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0h5J3eJGmfE
Watch 1:53 - 2:03 and I dare you to tell me you would not be all over this place with a pallet jack, a wrecker and ten Deuces to haul the loot away!!
As usual, not one shred of useful...
I have a Westach EGT gauge; worked fine for years. Then it stopped showing EGT/showed them sporadically. I put in a new K-probe. Now it does show temps, but ridiculously low (400 F) on uphill grades where it should get to 1000 or slightly above.
Are there different types of K-probes and how...
Murphy and the Rear Main Seal - Murphy messed up :-)
Had replaced the rear main and modified the carrier while I had everything apart. Did "fingernail check" on crank for groove and new seal dis not sit in same spot as old one anyway. Ran fine for over 50 hours now.
Today....highway run for an...
My Deuce is definitely female and she always finds something irritating to do. Latest kink is that both headlights come on with low beam when the truck is first started. After a few seconds the left headlight goes dark. It works fine when high beam is selected but immediately goes dark on low...
In the last while, questions have come up regarding alternatives to the OEM radiator, so I though I'd start a thread to collect wisdom.
Here are the specs on the OEM radiator:
Characteristics Data Response for NSN 2930-00-563-7235
Item Name: RADIATOR,ENGINE COOLANT
Requirement Statement...
