simply run a 1" hose from the compressor inlet to the nipple on the side of the air filter can. It's done on the trucks with deep water kits but IMO they should all be done this way. I did mine and I have no regrets.
there was an MWO to drill and tap the linkage points so that they can get greased in a normal service. they tend to bind from lack of lube and lack of use.
I've had many 6TL's die but for the cost of them new I don't mind putting them back in. You simply can't get the reserve capacity they have for the price. I get them for $155 at Orielly and the optima's are $189 and $199.
I have learned though, if I'm not going to be running the truck every...
I have spent the last 2 years trying to get all the clips installed. I've got the grill and side panels done and I'm still working on getting the clips on for the hood blanket.
I finished up the fuel cab heater and have installed the engine heater but it's not operational yet. I do have the...
I put 2 freeze plug heaters in the hmmwv's 6.5L. The direction you face the element is not important what is important is that it does not touch the block once it is installed. it will short out.
the inline hose type heater will not do anything for your application. they are way too small.
ya. also know that uncle same does not put tranny fluid in the transmission. they use diff oil. most say it's a good idea to swap it out. will take a few hundred dollars and several swaps but you can do it.
that may fix your problem, but if it doesn't then don't blame me and say it's my...
I first though of trying to time a difference in my truck when I did the mods.
so what I did was take shifting out of it.
I start in 4th gear at 1500rpms and time how long it takes to get to 2500rpms. always use the same piece of road and try to keep the temps the same. Thats how I did...
at 79 I too would buy it. but don't expect much from it.
lugging these or any diesel motor is not a good idea. 10psi at 1000rpm is not a good thing. you need to keep the multi turning good rpm's to make power and keep it together.
pinion brakes have been discussed to death. It simply cannot be done. the pinion turns at 6-7times the tire speed and all that's going to do is turn the rotor into a glowing fireball.
pinion brakes are for off road use only.
